i really dont think its a heat sheild, i have looked but it sounds more like a bearing noise. only thing throughing me off is that it sounds more prodominate under the car as opposed to the motor.

Usually heat shields built into the exhaust system. thin pieces of metl strapped and bolted around certain spots on the exhaust to keep from overheating certain other items or the floor of the car. just look underneath while someone else accelerates. you will probably spot the culprit.

1987 toyota truck rattle between 1000 and 1500 rpms

Hi Lucas, What engine is fitted? If the engine is petrol, the rattling sound you have heard could well be an effect named 'pinking.' Its usually caused by the ignition timing being out of adjustment and related to the octane rating of the fuel. The ignition timing is set with a stroboscopic timing light. the ignition timing is set at 10 degrees before top dead center. Regards John

"Metal" rattle on 04 Tahoe

It sounds like one or both of your heat shields have come loose. If you look right where the exhaust bolts to the engine blocks on either side of the motor there should be a shiny (in comparison to the exhaust) piece of metal that has come loose.

Rattling sound in drive shaft for 2003 GMC Sierra

Not sure what  you mean by rattling. If it is your drive shaft it could only be a worn U joint os just change the front and rear U joint unless you bent the drive shaft, but the shop should be able to tell you. The only other thing that would rattle under the truck would be the heat sheild for the Catalytic converter and muffler. Good luck and hope this helps
