5.8 E350 jammed distributor

Well i have a step van built on a 350 chasis, one day the van won't start so i came to the conclusion there was no spark i change the pcm rotor cap and rotor but still no spark, the parts guy said it was a modulator located on the distributor,so i undid the clamp on the distributor to turn it to get to the second bolt on the modulator and the distributor snap in half .....damn,so i took a chesel gently tapped on the base hoping the thing would pop out to replace it with a new one i bought.....but it broke even more.......wow so i chipped away at it hoping the impact would jar it lose ,and now i'm left with the body of the distributor in the block with the shaft sticking out and the thing is not budging at all ...........if anyone has some ideas i would appreciate it alot

Try warming up the aluminum shaft a little, not too hot to ignite any oil or vapors, then cooling with a wet rag...the aluminum will expand when heated then with cold water applied right away it cools faster than the block (shrinks)and should help in turning it..ive had them seize in there also on a 5.8

My van is hard to start . its a 350 auto. sometimes I can pull the distrubitor cap and file the inside and it will start. it has a 4 barral carb

Change cap and rotor and test the coil. Also make sure all wire connections to the cap are good...filing may not be solving the problem but removing and plugging back in may be. Also check internal dist wiring for breaks, especially pickup coil wires from under breaker plate.
