The 6.0 is neither an OHC or a DOHC. The OHC stands for over head cam which it is not. The DOHC is dual over head cam which it is not either. You should talk to someone else where ever you are ordering the chip from. The company will have someone with more smarts than that.

Can i put a ohc in my exploere or do i have to stay with the ohv what is the dif

You would have to change engine, OHC-over head cam is the cam sets on top of the cylinder head, OHV-over head valve the cam sets in the center of the engine using pushrods to open/close the valves.

How can you tell what type of transmission is in my 1998 chevy malibu

Whether your Malibu is:
(a) 4 cylinder 2.4L SFI DOHC Vin "T", or
(b) 6 cylinder 3.1L SFI OHV Vin "M"

SFI = fuel injected
DOHC = dual overhead camshaft
OHV = overhead valves
Vin = 17-digit unique car identifier - the 8th digit identifies the engine (not the transmission), and
as you can see, your engine will be identified by the 8th digit = "T" or "M"

your car has the Chevrolet 4T40E automatic transmission (aka "automatic transaxle")
Here are some specifications:

    I need a diagram of timing chain replacement Thank You

    During most engine rebuilds, a completely new timing assembly should be installed. If wear exists on any component, replacement of the entire assembly is necessary. Wear in the chain, gears, or sprockets means a timing lag, which results in poor engine performance.
    The timing chain or belt is generally installed with the gears in their correct positions. Before installing a new chain, soak it in oil.
    OHC (Overhead Cam) Engines
    Some OHC engines use a chain drive; others use a belt drive. Removing the cover on some OHC engines that have timing chains is more difficult, because the cover often fits between the oil pan and the cylinder head. There are special procedures for replacing cam timing components in these engines.
    Before a chain repair job, perform a leakage test on non-freewheeling engines to check for bent valves, so that an accurate repair estimate can be made.
    OHV (Overhead Valve) Pushrod Engines
    On many OHV pushrod engines, the crankshaft sprocket is installed on the crankshaft nose and the crankshaft is rotated to position piston #1 at TDC. At this point, a mark stamped onto the crankshaft sprocket is pointing directly upward (toward the camshaft).
    The camshaft sprocket is then temporarily bolted to the cam and used to rotate the cam until a mark stamped on the cam sprocket is pointing directly downward (toward the crankshaft). The sprocket is then removed from the cam (without allowing the cam to rotate).
    The timing chain is looped over the cam gear, the mark on the cam gear is positioned directly downward, and the chain is looped around the crankshaft sprocket. When the cam sprocket is attached to the cam, the timing marks on the crank and cam sprockets should be pointing toward one another. NOTE THIS IS FOR 2WD 4.0

    I need a picture of the spark plugs on a 1998 ford taurus numbered

    I don't have a link with pictures, but I will describe the cylinder and coil numbers for both the overhead valve (OHV) and the overhead cam (OHC) as best I can.
    Facing the engine from the front bumper.
    On the 3.0 overhead valve (OHV) the cylinder location looks like this:
    1 2 3
    4 5 6

    The coil location looks like this:
    5 1
    6 2
    4 3

    If you have the 3.0 overhead camshaft (OHC) engine again facing the engine from the front bumper your cylinder location looks like this:

    1 2 3
    4 5 6

    Your coil location looks like this:

    4 6 5
    3 2 1

    I hope this was helpful.

    I´AM THINKING ABOUT GETTING A PERFORMANCE CHIP FOR MY 2005 350 SUPER DUTY FORD 6 LT DIESEL ENGINE WHAT IS YOUR ADVICE

    Do your research. Don't rely on one manufacturer's claims. Diesel's work on precision. Any time you change something in a diesel engine it affects everything else, for example, shoving more fuel through the injectors can push them beyond the built in tolerances and lead to premature wear. One of the best authorities on diesel performance is Banks. They have been at it for a long time, GM recognized them as such in the early 80's. Trust what they tell you.If they don't offer that type of chip or performance chances are there is a reason.Hope this helps.

    Do after market performance chips work ?

    A legitimate replacement chip can maybe void the warranty, but also be made to change engine characteristics to supply more power or better economy but will not likely do both.  Otherwise, why wouldn't the manufacturer use different performance curve?
    Beware of something offered by hundreds of 'affiliates' that does nothing but tamper with the air-fuel ratio and sells for $20-$80 US and 'installs in minutes.' The vast majority of the 16,000+ offers on eBay are total frauds and many of the rest may alter the pollution output of the engine to the point that in some states could cost you even more than the chip.
    "Super-chips"
    Continue doing research before you spend even 'only a few bucks' on any of them.   I totally understand the urge, I still get it too, but lose it again after doing due diligence before ordering.
