Question about 2006 Chevrolet Malibu
My husband was driving and all of a sudden the car shut off, and he was not able to turn on the flashers. He was able to put the car in neutral and coast over to the side of the road. The car started again and he drove it for a couple of days with no problem. Now today it just won't start and none of the electronics work, such as the automatic locks, flashers, etc.
If you want to try to problem solve this first and save a little money, change your battery. This is an electrical problem and can be very costly - Some times changing the battery fixes the problem. It could be something as simple as your radio and it needs replace because it is draining too much juice from your battery. Other avenues to look at is your distributor, if it doesn't want to turn over than it is your starter.. When was the last tune up done on your vehicle? Another thing to consider is your fuel pump, that will make your car stall and not start again - It will act like an electrical problem. Much cheapier to do yourself than hiring a mechanic - Buy a Chilton if you need help with the replacement - Always remember that you put it in the same way you took it out.
