Ford F250 Electrical Issue

My 1997 F250 V8 2WD keeps draing the battery and dying. I replaced the battery and alternator, but that doesn't fix it. What is the next step. Any ideas?

Do you have any charger type items that are connected in your Pickup?
Check the glovebox lamp... sometimes the g/box can be closed but the light may still be on.
    Check all courtesy lamps.
I had an excursion with a similar problem... turned out to be my rechargeable maglite flashlight...the battery cell inside was shot and it kept trying to charge it.. replaced the battery pack and solved my problem.

I would reccomend you go back to the alternators again. Have it tested. There are many bad parts going over the counter these days, and I have replaced"new alternators" 3 times before getting a good one.

My 1991 f250 battery keeps dying while running

The alternator is not working. When running, a voltmeter on the battery should be at least 13.5 volts, showing the alternator is working and the battery is being recharged. You have a charging system malfunction. check the connections between the battery and alternator. Check battery ground, engine grounds, and engine to body strap ground.

I was driving down the raod the gauges went out then the truck died check betterys they have 11.79v but it want turn over at all it just clicks

The "clicking" is most likely your solonoid. Either your battery is low or the solonoid is not engaging (faulty) and needs to be replaced. If the truck died and the battery is low - I would check the alternator, since once the vehicle is running the alternator should put out enough power to charge the battery and keep the vehicle running even if the battery is bad. Let me know. Thanks

2002 Ford F250 V10 new alternator good battery but it dies while you are driving

Does the battery charge even after it drains. Even though it's a new alternator, it could still be bad. The battery could even have a dead cell because it's draining while you're driving. Sounds mainly like the alternator output isn't enough. Internal voltage regulator inside the alternator is usually a big problem, it can't be replaced, except by a new alternator or have yous rebuilt.

98 F 250 draing power when off. No problem when running/alternator putting out 14.8 and battery holds chrge when disconnected.

still sounds like a alternator issue, maybe grounding out at 1 of the brushes, try hitting the alternator with a hammer ,not really hard to break it,and see if it helps,if it does replace the brushes, which are usually about $25.00-$35.00,if it doesnt charge anymore then the brushes are bad.usually alternators go about 200,000 miles with no problems

You need to have the alternator re-checked and be sure the wiring is clean & correct. If an alternator is working properly & wiring is correct, those batteries should be charging as you drive.
