Question about 1995 Mitsubishi Galant

1 Answer

My rear passenger window won't roll down.

I just purchase a 1995 Mitsubishi Galant 2 weeks ago. It has power Locks and windows. My rear passenger won't roll down, I don't hear any sounds when I try rolling it down. All my windows are work fine. Does any one think it could be a fuse or something else?

Definatly no fuse try and swap the rear window swithes over and see if the other window works with that switch but my guess is that it is the regulator in the door not the motor ,that is the cablr that the motor wind up and down open the door cover and have a look at it

Front passenger window won't roll up

It is your power window motor & regulator, the cable broke. Here is what you do, order one from Amazon.com, that's what I had to do. To remove it you have to remove the door panel take of the plastic water barrier, there are 2 bolts that hold the window in place, then grab the window on both sides & bring it up to the top, take some masking tape or duck tape it to the window on both sides of window to hold the window up take out the 3 bolts that hold the motor in place then take the bolts that hold the regulator, make sure you unplug the connector from the motor then pull the regulator and motor out of the hole at rear of door.
I know this because I had to do the same thing about a week ago.

Why my passenger side power window not roll down but locks work

That is like asking why your grass grows faster one week than the next

You use the window switch a lot --- so start there

Next, is the window regulator or cable broken -when
that happens the window usually falls down

The window motor may have fail in some way

I know you should check for a blown fuse but the other
windows work & if it did blow replacing it won't do a thing

If you have & know how to use a volt meter on any setting,
start by getting access to the switches

I doubt the locks are even on the same circuit

Personally I wouldn't even approach the vehicle
without a wiring diagram
Like going on a road trip,no map,why leave home
won't find anything or get to any place

Most people ask a question & go to a repair shop
or try thing the hard way because it costs nothing

Also gives no results

Both passenger windows wont roll down, the power locks work but not the windows. How can this be fixed?

Disable the window lock switch. Unless you can't roll them down from the driver's switch either: in that case you're probably dealing with a faulty master control switch in the driver's door - all the other switches for the windows and locks go through it.

Driver window will roll down but the passenger and rear wont

The first thing that I would do is check for electricty at the motors them sel and work your way back.If there is elec. at the window motor it's self susspect a motor problem.Remove the motor to see if it spins (but it dosen't me its good it could be week)next check for binding in the window mecanism.

CAN YOU HEAR NOISE WHEN YOU PRESS THE BUTTON? IF SO THEN THAT MEANS YOUR MOTORS ARE WORKING AND YOU PROBALY HAVE BUSTED WINDOW REGULATORS, THERE RUN ABOUT 100.00 AND ARE EASY TO REPLACE.
