Question about 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser
When driving or sitting still the radio will go out, no clock or anything then it will come back on by itself, some times it does this several times in a row, then other times it stays on for two or three days.
Reads like you may have an intermittent power supply problem. The power travels from your battery via wires, through a fuse, through the ignition switch then through a connection plug into the radio. I recommend checking each of these connections for a loose contact / connection. Try changing the fuse for the radio, it may not be "blown" but the fuse wire could be fractured resulting in the intermittent situation you describe, this is a cheapy. If no loose connections are apparent a quick visit to an auto electrician could save you many hours of frustration.

Chrysler issued a Service Bulletin on this issue:
You can check with a dealer to see if they will cover the problem but I'm guessing since there was no recall, they probably won't. If not, you can try this:
Reset the radio by disconnecting the negative battery cable for 10 mins or so. After you reconnect, the radio should reset and resolve your issue.
I hope this fixes your problem. Best of luck!
