You will need to purchase an Air-Bag reader or send your car to the Dealer, for diagnostics. It will probably be the "Clock Spring" It is located inside the steering, directly behind the steering wheel. It is the one component that has moving parts. But without a reader, you will not know. You could cause the Air-Bag system to deploy the air-bag if you try repairing the system blind.

The only thing I can think of that would explain your problem is a faulty ignition switch.

Hi, the airbag flashing light on your car is telling there is a problem. On some vehicles, the light is flashing a two digit code. Your vehicle will require a scan tool for the proper diagnosis (and not the one at Auto Zone---it needs to be airbag system specific, like a good body shop or the dealer). Here's a site that will explain everything you need to know about airbag lights and resetting the system. Once you know the code, you can most likely repair it yourself. There are fairly easy procedures that most people are capable of repairing.
Airbagsolutions.com has the fault code charts to tell you what is wrong! Although it's a pay site ($14.95/day), it's a lot cheaper than going to the dealer.

Use a flex head ratchet wrench to remove the seat, or temporary battery to power the seat, non power seat will fit but disabling you side air bag will shut down the whole SRS, and no air bags will work, this is against the law in some states

We fixed a salvaged Impala, and the air bag indicator stayed on. The bags were not blown, we think it might have done it because we started it with them unpluged. What do we have to do to get it to go off?

You would need to hook up a diagnostics scanner and clear the stored code.. if you had a scanner usually can be cleared at a service shop.. they will also be able to tell you if u have any other air bag issues... Or you can try disconnecting battery and checking your air bag plugins then reconnecting your battery

Describe why my air bag light keeps blinking on and off i have a 2005 chevy impala

You have a condition the computer recognises as a fault in the air bag system. It needs to be corrected to have the air bag system work properly. A Scanner with Air Bag ability needs to be used to diagnose the problem. First look for any blown fuses for the air bag system.
