SOURCE: 06 honda civic are headlights always dim?

Well, if you truly believe they are dim, voltage drop test on the power side of the headlight circuit, and then on the ground side. Separately. If there is excessive voltage drop in the wiring, that would cause dim headlights.

If the headlights and dash are dim when u turn multiple electrical items on, then it is a bad Electrical Load Detector(ELD)

Good Luck

How do u change headlight on a civic 2005, the dim light bulb

On most new cars theres 2 tabs (made of sheet metal, 1 inch wide, bent 90 degrees) on each headlight that you pull up and it will release the headlight. im not completley sure on Civics but if there are no tabs then look for 10mm sheet metal bolts going through the upper radiator support above your headlights. those should release the headlight if there are no tabs.

Hope this helps!

Yeah, the ground. ALWAYS, make sure the ground is good. When that switch was cut out, the ground was disconnected also. That's why the stuff don't work and and the chronometer resets and is dim. ALWAYS check the ground before ANYTHING else is done.

Honda has issued a bulletin that addresses this exact problem. The bulletin number is 04-015. Take the car to your local Honda dealer and mention that bulletin to them. They should replace the Headlight Combo switch under warranty.
