Take off the lowest Collant hose that comes off the radiator, have a pan ready alot of fluid will come out. this will drain 80 persent of the fluid wich is more then enuf. after it has drained out then replace the hose and fill the car with a 50/50 mix, this can be bought at any auto parts store or even grocery store has them most of the time. take the cap off the radiator and fill it up. after it is full start the car with the cap off, now u need to top it off. Get the car hot and keep topping off the fluid be carfull as not to put the cap on then take it off after its realy hot. Watch the fluid lvl for a few days cus if you dont get all the air out you will need to keep topping it off.

Good luck

My 2001 ford winstard try to overheating when I drive bumper to bumper or I stopeed.

Some thing too check:
Make sure coolant level is up to line and clean (not dirty, do to clogged radiator, may need to be flushed or replaced).
Make sure air flow through the out side of radiator is clear (dirt, leaves, ect..) .
Make sure fan is working properly equip t (is not running too slow). Or Manual (belt driven) fan clutch is working properly, not loose or spinning too freely?
Check for broken or cracked fan blades itself.
Check radiator cap, (no gasket tears).
Could be thermostat going bad ?
Could be coolant temperature Relay or sensor/switch (from computer) going bad?
Check radiator hose(s) (too soft, may collapse)?
In some rare cases:
Timing could be off.
Could be water pump.
Could be blown head gasket(s).
Could have cracked head(s).
ECT..............Hope this was some help???

My 2001 Ford Windstar LE blows cold air and I've had the thermostat, both heat cores, blending door and coolant replaced. What else could it possibly be?

i would take it back to whomever did all that work and ask them to fix it. if you did the work, time to take it to a ford garage.

On my 2001 windstar when i turn the lever to hot section I could hear click, click sound and it does not get warm only cold air coming.

Global 1207 is right. It's your blend door actuator which is sticking. Probably the plastic teeth on the cog inside are worn. It is white plastic and is located behind your radio. It controls the opening of your blend door from A/C (closed) to heat (open). Buy a Ford Windstar radio removal tool from any parts store (less than $10.00) remove the radio. You will then have access to the actuator. At the bottom right you will see a little plastic wheel with an indented square. Find a long flat head screwdriver that wil fit diagonally into the square and turn it clockwise slowly. The blend door should pop open and heat will enter the cabin. Finally when you have the time replace the unit. They sell for about $75.00 at the dealer or cheaper elsewhere. Good luck. This worked for me.

How often should you replace the fluids

Oil every 3,000 miles, Automatic transmission fluid and filter every 60,000, coolant every 100,000, flush brake fluid every 60,000, no other fluid need replacement unless they are replaced as part of a repair like a power steering repair.

My 2001 Ford Windstar van seems to be using alot of coolant daily

Possible coolant leak on hot engine parts causing it to evaporate as it leaks. That would definitely invade the cabin air. You would need to carefully check under the hood with the engine warmed up and running.

Also could be a headgasket failure between coolant channels and a combustion chamber. This latter problem sometimes shows itself as vapor at the tailpipe after there should be no more visible. You may also detect the odor of coolant there too.

2001 expedition heater does not heat well

I would flush the whole system with radiater flush then replace with new coolant. But make sure the heater is set to full heat when you flush it ( while driving around the block with flush in it) so the small radiater that has the hot water flowing through it gets flushed too. It may have some build up in it stopping the full flow of heated water/coolant through. If it is bad enough may need to remove and spray out the rubber hoses from the motor to the heater core, and possibly remove the heater core and hose it out to make it flow better and therefore increase the heating ability. Hope this helps.
