I have iol leak in the rear of chev vetec 350

didnt specify vehicle --generic answer --start with older vehicles leaking from top check valve cover --towards bottom rear oil seal -oil filter ,housing-- bottom oil pan //newer only difference would be oil pressure sensor and oil cooler lines

I am going to take a shot in the dark and assume this is a chev 350 cid engine we are talking about and if I am correct you may have a defective oil pressure sw. The switch wil leak oil and is mounted on the china wall or rear of the engine where the dist. goes through the intake manifold.

Where it is located the oil switch pressure on 1997 jimmy?

the oil preasure switch is always mostly located where the wires go to the oil preasure switch usually beside the oil filter

so look on the diagram ... look online for the info on google

Chevy 350 oil pressure sending unit

The Oil Pressure Switch is located:Under hood, center, rear engine area, driver side of distributor, mounted in block. Here's what it looks like.he oil pressure switch is mounted to the top rear of the engine.

  1. Remove the electrical connector from the switch.
  2. Remove the oil pressure switch.
  3. To install, reverse the removal procedures.

2000 Mazda Protege 1.6L big oil leak passanger side. No oil in timing belt area. All over firewall & steering rack. What is leaking?

probably gaskets are not sealed properly you have to redo it or try and cleaned it remove all the oil that sorrounds the engine and try to seal with a high temp silicon

Where is the oil pressure switch located on a 2003 chev truck

Hello eag..... On the 5.3 and the 5.7 the sending unit is located on the left [driver's side] rear top of the engine, behind the intake manifold mounted into the top of the block.

Change Oil Filter

On the bottom of the engine towards the back of the engine block, on most chev's it is on the drivers side.

White Smoke coming out of bonnet & exhaust,stinks of burning oil

oxygen sensor
oil leak at back of block thats spirting on hot engine block
bad oil rings in block
valves bad
head or head gasket worn and cracked check the oil if chocolate brown then this would be it
a/c preasure line busted or a/c locked up
water line busted on hot engine or small water leak
bad emmission components

these are the things i can think of off the top of my that could give this reaction in vehicle since im not there in person to see vehicle this will have to be what i think
