Question about 1994 Isuzu Trooper
Started located right below the drivers side exhaust manifold where the down pipe attaches. You will have to remove most of the exhaust system from the catalytic converter forward to get ot it. this is not a job for the faint hearted or Sunday mechanic. Make sure you spray the bolts on the exhaust system and be prepaired for bolts to break off.

The starter is under the engine on the right hand side (looking from the front), below the exhaust manifold and above the front axle.
It is held on by two downward facing bolts.
Very hard to access - I have yet to find a way of getting it out even with the exhaust section removed.

Follow the positive battery wire, the red one, and it will lead you to the starter. It will be much dirtier than this, but this is what you are looking for http://www.autozone.com/autozone/catalog/parts/partsProduct.jsp?itemIdentifier=60987_23521_0_12692&skuDescription=Duralast+Import+/+Starter&brandName=Duralast+Import&displayName=Starter&categoryNValue=15399999&sortType=&store=112&isSearchByPartNumber=false&fromWhere=&fromString=search&itemId=prod10625&navValue=15300045&filterByKeyWord=starter&productId=60987&appQuestionText=With+Hitachi+starter&searchText=starter&categoryDisplayName=External+Engine&parentId=cat10010&questions=

Disconnect the battery cable from the starter solenoid using a wrench, then remove the second wire connection on the solenoid using a wrench.
Remove the two starter mounting bolts using a ratchet, socket, ratchet extension and universal joint to give yourself extra clearance if necessary.
Work the starter motor out of the engine compartment and away from the vehicle.
Set the new starter and solenoid assembly in place and install the two mounting bolts.
Connect the battery cable and wire to the back of the starter solenoid; install the heat shield and lower the vehicle.
This is the procedure. You can follow it.
