Location of pvc valve on a Pontiac sunfire 2.2 4cyl 2005

It's not a PCV valve like back in the day . It's a fix orifice in the valve cover . Where the breather hose hooks to the valve cover . You would need to take the valve cover off an clean the orifice with carb clean or brake clean .

Oil leaking from top of engine

The oil could be leaking from the rocket cover. The rocker cover bolts may need tightening or the rocket cover gasket needs replacing.

My car have been stock up for like 6 months cos it doesnt starts then ill call a mechanic,,clean the carborator then the radiator, batteries ok newly charge ..has gas..but still doesnt start,,whats the...

firstly make sure you have spark , have some turn the car over have on spark plug lead removed with plug inserted , rest this on rocket cover an check for spark , if spark is o.k then you have fuel blockage , fuel can go rotten after three months , to test for blockage , remove air cleaner cover and pour a small cap full of petrol into carby , then try to start with foot down on accelerater , if runs then stops you have fuel blockage .you may need to get fuel system cleaned and fresh fuel in tank..
hope this helps.

1976 f250 truck sat for 6 yrs the gas has turned orange and smells like varnish this truck has an electric fuel pump i replaced the fuel filter and tried to start it several times with starter fluid ive...

hello, usually when gas sets in carb for a long time it turns into a varnish, you will have to take carb apart and clean all jets out, even the fuel pump may be clogged up, you will probably have to rebuild carb, unless you have access to air line to blow any and all jets, pretty much all passage ways, power jets, in other words you have a carb problem, you may need a new one, unless you have a strong solvent, that will break away any varnish or gum up.

Is it very complicated to remove the valve cover to replace the grommets & the silicone & if not what is the recommended steps to take. thanks for any help my car is a 1994 Saturn SC1 SOHC

I replaced a valve cover gasket last night. The simple way of completing this taks is to un bolt the valve cover using the star tool. If I remember their is a total of ten bolts around the v-cover and in the center. Remove all bolts and clean them with carb or brake cleaner to disolve all the grease and dirt. Be careful to keep all washers that are below bolt head clean them to. You then would want to disconnect any lines or hoses connected (be mindful of where to re-connect them). Then very gently grab both sides of cover and pull toward front of engine until seal releases. Take cover out remove and replace all rubber grommets. Take a flat head screw driver and run along the seal making sure that the screw driver is under the seal run along crevice all the way around and in the center of valce cover ( where the circles are). You want the seal to be clear of all debris( and old seal). Use a clean towel to clean all areas where the seal once was with brake or carb spray. Clean the top of engine where seal rested and the circle area's make sure to use the silicone and cut the tip to desired beading ( you want the bead to be thick enough to fill the crevices where your old seal was maybe even more) After all area's have been filled wait 5 minutes for silicone to skin( a process where silicone is just begining to become tacky). Replace valve cover and make sure everything lines up install all bolts with washers into place and tighten reconnect all lines/ hoses and wait up to and hour and a half to drive. Although its safe to drive after this time it will take 24 hours to fully cure. Please forgive me for my grammer but I hope this information helps you.

No start

Hi,

Must be a glitch in the system, I was never notified as it is supposed to.

Based on your last post, clean the new plugs and dry them out. It may even help to heat them using an open flame (away from the fuel). Thereafter wipe clean the sooth/burnt marks. Make sure all the plugs are firing. Since it is a carb/central injector, once fuel comes out of the carb, rev the engine while choking/releasing the cover over the mouth of the carb. The idea is for the engine to **** into the manifold any debris that may have lodged inside the carb jets seemingly cleaning the insides of the carb.

Rocket cover gasket

yes just undo all the rocker cover bolts remove the rocker and make sure that you remove all the old gasket material on the rocker cover and the cylinder head then get some gasket tack(a spray adheasive) put gasket in place and make sure you only tighten them hand tight with a nut driver.start with the inside nuts and work your way to the outside
