Hi, one of your door pressure switches are sticking or, may be disconnected or broken. these pressure switches are located within the inner side of each door frame. they are usually housed where the door hinges are located. you can replace these switches.

make sure it isnt a wiring issue before you buy new pressure switches.

Please rate and have a great day:)

One more thing. make sure the dome light(interior light), switch isn't set to ON. if its set to ON, it will continue to illuminate even if the doors are closed.

My warning light saying the door is open stays on when they are all closed its a 2004 golf tdi

one of the door sensors most likely the most used driver door is bad (faulty) using a proper scanner you can access the body control module and get this information. the sensor is located on the door lock mechanism, meaning lock might have to be replaced to fix problem.

I have a 55 plate VW Golf 2.0 Fsi - the alarm keeps going off by itself! We disconnected the battery last night (to get some sleep!) and it's started again today.... agh, HELP!

You probably have a faulty door, boot or bonnet lock.If you put the inside light switch to the setting for the light to come on when the doors are open, close all the doors and see if the light goes off.If your model golf has a display on the dash,it shuold tell you which door is open.It could also be a faulty interior sensor or a faulty alarm horn.A diagnostic machine will be able to tell you which was the last alarm activation.

Door warning light stays on

You have a bad door lock control module.  The car is seeing that the door is open all the time.  Each door has one of these modules.  You need a Factory scan tool to properly determine which door or trunk module is bad or a computer with VAGCOM on it and the odb 2 cable.  This is simple to figure out if you have the right tools.  For someone without a scan tool try shutting each door hard and the trunk.  Do each one seperatly and watch too see if light goes out.  Sometimes you can knock the module into working again.  Then the last door you shut would have the issue module in it.

The VW Golf (2002) I have is setting off the alarm, the dash indicates that the tailgate is open, but appears to be closed. Is there a sensor on the tailgate that may be faulty?

The micro-switch is fitted inthe lock of the tailgate.Try opening the tailgate and manually close the lock and see if the boot light and the dash indicater light go off,if not, replace boot lock.If the lights go off, tailgate not closing properly, adjust the boot lock catch.Good luck
