I know that you did not mention any overheating but have the cooling system checked for hydrocarbons or do a compression test (all cyls should be within 20% of each other. Even if you had one completely dead cylinder, it is very difficult for wet fuel to get through an exhaust system without vaporizing. Your symtoms sound very much like a partially failed head gasket.
I could be wrong, but without the benefit of being there, that's what it sounds like.

You may have a blown head gasket...what you see coming out of the pipe is likely water. Check for hydrocarbons in radiator (a shop can do this for you) or do a compression test on engine. all cylinder pressures should be within 20% of each other.
I know you did not mention overheat but even if you had one completely dead cylinder it's pretty hard to get wet gas all the way through a hot exhaust system without if vaporizing.

If it is a head gasket, coolant will be "putting out the fire" in the affected cylinder(s) and causing other ones to work harder (using more fuel to compensate for the loss of power) This ends up using more fuel to do less work...really bad mpg!
As You know, I can't see what you have there and the only proper way to diagnose is hands on. That's something you need to do or have done. All I can offer is my professional opinion.

It is only one idea. Testing will give you the best information. Many times after I speak with a customer I come away with an idea...however, after doing some testing I find what I thought was incorrect or slightly different than what was actually going on. No good technician just gets an idea and then changes that part to see what happens. No good tech changes a part and considers it finished 'till he determines why the component failed either, otherwise he can be fixing the result, not the cause, and will have a "comeback" shortly thereafter. Do some testing and you will find the problem.

Hello Charles...I don't know what engine package you have in your ranger the 3.0 or 4.0 litre, but regardless, a diagnostic scan needs to be performed to determine the cause of the problems. Sounds like the Electronic Engine Control (EEC-IV) has stored hard codes. A self test can be performed where Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) are transmitted on the Self Test Output (STO) wire located on the vehicle self test connector. The codes are in the form of timed pulses, and are read by the technician on a scan tool or the CHECK ENGINE light. With the information recieved the proper repairs needed to correct the problem can be determined, other wise you are just guessing.
Good Luck...i hope this helps and will fixya up.

You replace alot of things but you should replace the EGR valve and the throttle positioning valve also. I would start with the EGR valve

My tuck idles low and spits gas out the exhaust

Since you have replaced all those parts already, I would suggest checking out the egr valve. Also I was wondering how the coilpacks or distributor are acting? Is the truck firing on all cylinders? Very possible you have leaky injector also.
