Question about 1999 Chrysler Town & Country

1 Answer

No start, no fuel, recent new fuel pump that fixed problem but prob. is back

I have a 1999 Chrysler Town and Country 3.8 liter that won't start. I'm sure I have spark, but there is no fuel. The fuel relay clicks, and no fuses are blown that I can find. I can hear the fuel pump at the gas filler neck go for a couple of seconds when the key is switched fully on (before cranking) (this is normal I think). Also, I just changed the fuel pump last week and the van was driving fine after that. I drove it at least 50 miles with several on-off stops along the way with no problem. Then this morning, it wouldn't start again. And no fuel is coming out at the fuel pressure valve on the fuel rail. What do you Chrysler experts think? I used a new fuel pump from Advance, was that a mistake? Is there a pressure regulator that could be the problem? If so, where is it and how do I check it? Please help! Thanks.

I just changed fuel pump and filter in my 1999 chrysler town and country pump comes on for second then no power to pump

make sure that the old pump is likely close to new one, or see the socket of your pump may be your new one is loosen to couple of your old pump. or try to loose or remove your new fuel filter then switch at the ignition, if the fuel is continues running the problem is your fuel filter, try another new filter.

My fuel pump went bad on my 1999 town and country,I had it replaced now the van won't accelerate the way it use to. What could be the problem

Hi,

It could be anything from Electrics, to Fuel, to Vacuum leaks etc.

My guess would be either the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) or insufficient fuel flow (which could be anything such as clogged fuel filter, fuel restriction or even your new pump is bad).

The best and quickest way, is to have your Diagnostics (Engine computer) checked, this will identify the faulty circuit or components.

Start with the simple fixes first; Try a new fuel filter. Then a new pcv valve. Both are very cheap & you can probably install them yourself.
