Question about 1995 Chevrolet Cavalier
Last 3 weeks we been having trouble with our '95 cavalier. every so often the car wouldn't start up. one day the the car didnt and we called AAA and had it towed to the shop. before the towe truck hooked up i decide to try and start it. bigger then **** the car start but we had it towed to the shop any ways. the guy claimed we was outta gas i asked him if he checked the fuel pressure we was thinking it could've been the fuel filter or pump. dude of course didnt and said that was the problem. still we had the start up problem where every so often it started up on the 2 or 3rd try. well today the car back fired blew out the muffler? there isn't a cadillic convert its a straight pipe. dont know if i should try aand start again fear big problems.
When it backfires there is three things that can cause this water or moisture in the distributor cap or a cracked cap, or if it has a coil pack then mositure on the coils or bad spark plug wires. Fuel pump won't cause a backfire except on two stroke engines. and the other things that can cause a back fire is timing chain, or burnt or bent valves or bad compression rings.
