I had the same issue- likely. Does your car act as though it is going to stall out if you remove the gas cap? Mazda dealer said that they have a lot of these issues and replaced the Evap Purge Valve $45. Located under hood, at the right side of the engine facing from the front of the car. Held in place by a rubber boot thing and having a wire connector, and connected to a hard plastic line running down the firewall. (test it- apply 12V to the connectors (not sure if polarity matters) and see if you can blow through it all the time- mine never closed) Hope this helps.

1998 dodge ram 1500 po132 engine light wont go off after replacing h2o sensors

the h2o sensor may not be the only problem, some thing else is setting off the sensor, a pin hole in the hose, a loose connection, cracked lines, plug lines, blockage of sensor that controls the h2o unit, look at the whole picture, housing, gasket is that area, too much h2o, not enough h2o, gases mixtures + h20's, make sure you have the air pressures sucking and pushing through the line.
you are going to have to a service manual and general information how the h20 system works in that vehicle. test points.

What does code 2195 means

P2195-Lack of Ho2S-11 Switch,sensor Indicates Lean

That is an Oxygen Sensor Code

11 indicated the bank or side of the engine # 1 Cylinder is on
& you will have to figure that out & the second 1 is the front or
upstream sensor closest to the motor, usually in the converter
inlet or pipe before

If the code was a 12 then it would be on dual exhaust the 1 again
front O2 sensor & 2 the opposite bank to #1 cylinder

You may have other codes from PO171 Thru PO175 also

Cause or Reason- well that has to be determined at a repair shop

At the end of a test, the sensor is indicating a lean condition
(lack of fuel) & is trying to correct for a rich condition
The fuel trim can no longer be controlled for a calibrated time

Bad O2 Sensor - I suggest you replace all front sensors at
100,000 on all your vehicles & leave the rear monitors as they don't
fail often
A leaking Fuel Injector
Low Fuel Pressure
Evap System issue
Any air or Vacuum leaks anywhere
Egr system
Exhaust Leaks

That is a partial list of cause

Do you have other codes stored-- misfires as well

Not a cut & dry solution untill every thing is checked out
one item at a time ,preferably using a trouble chart &
experience

I need to know which O2 sensors are which: Bank 1 Sensor 1, Bank 1 Sensor 2, Bank 2 Sensor 1, and Bank 2 Sensor 2. Which are on the engine block and which are on the exhaust?

bank one upstream oxygen sensor on exhaust manifold bank two oxygen sensor after catalytic converter.tell me what code you are getting.bank 1 sensor 1 fuel system is too rich fuel pressure too high fuel pressure regulator leaking or more than 1 fuel injector leaking. fuel contaminated.check spark plugs if black carbon color fuel system too rich. if you getting code bank 1 sensor 2 check for air leaks in the exhaust system, air leaks intake manifold.look for vacuum lines leaks, look for vacuum leaks pcv valve and hose and make egr valve not stuck open or gasket leak.

Hi, I need to take my 2001 Mazda 626 4cyln for SMOG check in CA. But its check engine light is on, diagnosed as code P0421. Appreciate your help to fix this problem, or just to pass the check. Thank you.

CODE P0421. DEFINITION-CATALYST EFFICIENCY LOW-BANK 1. EXPLANATION-THE OXYGEN SENSORS MONITOR THE CATALYTIC CONVERTERS ABILITY TO STORE OXYGEN. PROBLEM CAUSES- 1. CATALYTIC CONVERTER DEFECTIVE (FAILURE POSSIBLY DUE TO #2,3, OR 4) 2. ENGINE MISFIRE OR RUNNING CONDITION. 3. LARGE VACCUM LEAK 4. ENGINE OIL LEAKAGE INTO EXHAUST-VALVE GUIDE SEALS, PISTON RINGS. THE PCM HAS DETERMINED THAT THE WARM UP CATALYST EFFICIENCY FOR BANK 1 IS BELOW TRESHOLD FOR THE CURRENT ENGINE OPERATING CONDITION. (BANK 1 IDENTIFIES THE LOCATION OF CYLINDER #1, WHILE BANK 2 IDENTIFIES THE CYLINDERS ON THE OPPOSITE BANK).

replace O2 sensors, or your Catalytic Converter.

CHECK ENGINE CODE P2187 SAYS SYSTEM TOO LEAN AT IDLE BANK 1

i had the same code, p2187. check to the left of the throttle body(side facing the front of the veh.
there are 2 vaccum hoses going into the intake. the larger one on top has a spring clip holding it and if you look under that you'll see a smaller one with a check valve. mine was disconnected. plugs in under the larger one.
