No, after you change the mass air flow sensor, the problem is fixed. The check engine light may stay on for a few times after you start the car. After several starts, the check engine prom, will eventually correct itself, and reset.

have u had the computer scanned? any emissions codes? That could be anything from throttle pressure, throttle positioning sensor, mass air flow sensor.Step 1 would be scanning the PC & checking the emissions. Good luck.

My Toyota 1995 22re ides but stalls when pushing on the gas pedal

I would check out the Mass Air Flow sensor and the Throttle Position Sensor.
The Throttle Position Sensor tells the computer what position your have on the throttle while your are pushing on the gas pedal.
The Mass Air Flow sensor tell the computer how much air is going into the engine at different RPMs.

A repair manual will show you how to check the sensors if they are bad. Auto-parts store will carry these books. It's about $20.

1991 toyota pickup dies when you release the gas pedal

There are couple of things I would check out that would cause this problem.

1. The Mass Air Flow Sensor. It measures how much air is going into the engine. Should be located on top of air filter box.

2. The air tube that goes from the Mass Air Flow Sensor to the throttle body. Check for leaks that would bypass air from going through the Mass Air Flow Sensor.

3. The Throttle Position Sensor. Located on the throttle body. This tells the computer what position the butterfly plate is on the throttle body. You control this plate with the gas pedal..

Bucking engine

Check the fuel pressure, also change the fuel filter.check the crankshaft sensor,or replace. It sounds more like the tps sensor(throttle position sensor). It is mounted in line with the throttle axle,on the throttle horn.Of course .with out being there and checking I am just guessing. But map sensor or mass air flow sensor could also cause this.Have you checked the air filter? This will cause the problem,if it is stopped up restricting air flow to engine and mass air flow.,map sensor, and vacuums needed to run the car.If I can help, let me know.
