Check engine light car shaking

I have my car shaking bad and the light engine blinking. The computer said the problem was the catalytic converter. I had it changed. It was still shaking the computer said missed fire. Then I changed all the spark-plug as it was suggested by the mechanic. But the car is still shaking there after. What could be the problem?

Without seeing the vehicle i cannot say for sure but i would do a compression test first ,remove all spark plugs then test the compression ,i suspect the head gasket is blown between two cylinders which is normally 2/3 as this is the most common place where a 4 cylinder engine will blow the gasket.

SOURCE: There is an a engine miss in my es 300 99 lexus

If you have coils and spark plugs then you don't have wires. From personal experience these car's misfire because of coils and BAD INJECTORS. If you replaces coils and sparks plugs you need to check injectors. Get a NOID light and check injectors pulse to make sure it good. First you must locate the cylinder that has the misfire/Missing,this can be done by using a computer/code scanner or if can be manually by disconnecting each coil and see when there is NO change in idling or shaking. What you are looking for is when you disconnect the Eugine should shake more and when you reconnect it would smooth en out. If any cylinder when disconnected the engine doesn't change that the one with the problem. Check again for spark and make sure it good. Then check that injector pulse plug off injector connector and connect it to NOID light you should get a constant flickering of NOID LIGHT. If you do then BINGO that injector is BAD. However I must say this test is on valued if you have performed a compression test on all cylinders to make sure there are no BAD/Burnted valves. This can be done with a compression guage remember the reading should NOT be more than 10PSI difference between all cylinders example of a normal reading is cylinder 1 170 psi cylinder 2 168 cylinder 3 172..... abnormal is cylinder 1 170 cylinder 2 85 cylinder 3 172 ...etc. I know this is alot of info but read through and follow these step and you'll be ASE certified by the end of this job. Good luck and thanks for using FIX YA

SOURCE: tcs light, check engine light flashing and constant shaking..

Use an OBDII scanner, some auto parts stores will do this for you free of charge.
Codes P0300 through P0306 indicate mis-fire and you may also get codes reflecting Cat damage from running that way.
I know of one TL from this series (2000 3.2 TL) which had a warranty REPLACEMENT OF TRANSMISSION!!! free of charge and this very problem was solved. I still do not know why they were related. Talk to Acura customer relations about this.

Loss of power? How many miles? Plug, plug wire or ignition coil(if seperate poles) would be my guess.

Check engine light blinking car shaking

The light is blinking to alert the driver that the problem is serious enough to damage the catalytic converter.
You'll need to get the engine computer scanned for trouble codes to proceed with testing.

Engine light is on and the car will not accelerate, the tail pipe shakes and puffs

Check the trouble codes, and check that the catalytic converter is not plugging the exhaust up. If you bang on it and you hear rattling, it is probably bad. One way to verify is to run the engine with the converter disconnected from the exhaust. If it runs better, the converter is bad.

You need to have the fault codes read with a OBD2 code reader or scanner, that is how you find out what system in the computer controlled engine is acting up.

The check engine light needs to be addressed. Yes it could be a sensor but you need to know.
The light blinking means the problem is serious, such as a dead miss on one or more cylinders. The light being on means something is happening with the engine performance that could damage the catalytic converter.
Get the computer scanned - most auto parts stores will do it for free in hopes of selling you some parts. Once you have the codes research them online or here.

Car engine light on light blinking shaking over due for oil chang

Your engine has a cylinder miss-firing, that not only shakes the car but makes the check engine light blink the cylinder number that is missing, don't drive the car this way or u will overheat the exhaust catalytic converter, this can cause a fire.
