2007 auto trans with 5.9 Cummins. Does not want to shift properly and is now not wanting to shift from first to second. 67,000 miles and an org. owner with VERY little towing.

You can bypass it by taking it out of "D" and put the shift selector in 1 from a stop, then to 2 as you accelerate. These transmissions are problematic, especially if you have a programmer. Most likely needs a rebuild.

Dodge cummins tow haul stays on

Hi, I have a 2004 Dodge Ram 2500, 5.9 Cummins with 225,000 miles. Just today, my Haul/Tow keeps coming on and Trans/Temp light. Keeps automatically switching in and out on its own. It's been 100,000 miles since my last trans maintenance. Going to a mechanic close and he suggested to start with fluid change, filter change, and inspect the band, maybe adjust. Trans runs very smoothly. Checked the fluid, looks clean and not hot. Is this common with this year and mileage? If so, whats normally the out come? If the band is bad, do I have to replace the entire trans?

Going down the road car starts to skip running ruff then shut off had to be tow after couple hours car starts now running fine

If your check engine light is on take the car to an auto parts store like Advance or Auto Zone they can hook up a diagnostic reader for free and tell you what kind of trouble codes are stored in the car's computer. Sounds like you may have a vacuum leak or need to replace your mass air flow sensor.

What is auto hold for in volkwagen passat

The Auto Hold function in Volkswagen's new Passat and Passat Estate is an extension of the electronic parking brake. The Auto Hold function prevents the vehicle from rolling away accidentally when standing still or when setting off. In this way Auto Hold offers the ultimate in convenience and comfort when driving or setting off, along with enhanced safety. The system is operated via the ABS/ESP hydraulic unit. When the vehicle is braked to a standstill, Auto Hold retains the last-applied braking pressure. The driver can take his/her foot from the brake pedal and all four wheel brakes will remain on. If the ABS wheel speed sensors detect any rolling, the braking force is automatically increased until the vehicle comes to a standstill again. This may be the case if, for example, the driver brakes gently to a stop on an incline. As soon as the driver presses the accelerator again and, in the case of manual gearboxes, releases the clutch, Auto Hold reduces the braking pressure once more. For safety reasons the function always has to be reactivated by means of a button to the left of the gear lever when the engine has been switched off.

How can i select 4 wheel drive on my 06 jeep grand cherokee it has an auto gearbox thanks

Most of those have Quadratrack which is full time four wheel drive. (lever all the way to front) neutral is used when towing your vehicle and low range is only used when in severe conditions or pulling another vehicle from a mud hole etc. That can be engaged by rolling slowly forward and pulling the lever all the way back. On all other systems though some can be engaged at a standstill, it usually id better to shift while rolling, usually below 20mph. Neutral in all systems is as I said before.
If it cannot be shifted, or it does not engage, likely it is either not properly adjusted or the transfer case or another component is worn.

Will my 2004 heavy duty 3/4 ton with a cummins diesel engine, 6 speed standard transmission tow a travel trailer that weighs 14,000 lbs???

The maximum towing capacity of 13,750 and you should not exceed what the manufacturer recommends as you can cause serious harm to your vehicle, yourself, and / or others.

When considering the maximum towing capacity, you also have to consider passenger weight, luggage, etc as all this will reduce the overall capacity... I.e. if you've got 1000lbs in the trunk and 3 passengers plus the driver, your capacity has already dropped to around 12,000
