the one thing in your statment is the knockes/knocking this what is known as the big ends and indicates the engine is under pressure and needs a lot of repair. If when you start the engine when cold if you stand at the back of the car and if the smoke coming out of the exhaust has a blue tint/ie like a old ladys hair tint ,as im sure you will see.[bottom line] the engine needs replaced.adrian,,,,

I have a 96 nissan king cab xe 2400 ist starts really good runs good till warm and then starts ticking noise sounds like valves but not sure

A few things to try. Might be engine knocking from not using proper octane fuel. Also, an oil/filter change. If these simple things do not help, seek out a mechanic.

Engine dies when running. Intermittently dies while running no sputtering or other warning, all of a sudden the engine is off. Mostly happens at lower rpm's. Starts right back up after putting it in park.

first thing to replace and cheapest would be the fuel filter ,if that doesn't fix the problem , it may be the fuel pump . GM fuel pumps are in the gas tank, and they have a built in thermo fuse . when fuel pumps get old 60000 miles or so..the motor in fuel pump starts running to hot and the thermo fuse kills the power till it cools down then it will run till it gets hot again note the cool down time keeps getting longer and longer

Replaced fuel pump now wont run right once warm

If it ran normally before changing fuel pump, you probably have a bad aftermarket pump out-of-the-box. Try "thepartsladi" store on eBay for low price OEM.

Car stopping after gets hot and wont start till cool.

I don't think that all of the stuff should have been done except the crank sensor. The only thing I can see is that the timing is out of wack. I do believe that they have automatic timing control which will automatically set your timing which means that the ECM has to be changed.

Leaks radiator fluid and fans dont turn on

make sure u have enough antifreeze (coolant ) in the resovoir and bleed all the air out of system. do this by;letting engine run till good and warm no t over hot, then stop engine (make sure resovoir is full or a little over full)leave for about 35 to 40 minutes and see if coollant level has droped(it should this is normal) refill and repeat proscess over and over untill the coolant level stops ,u will notice it will take longer and longer for engine to warm up this is also normal then start engine and watch temp ,so it dont over heat, wait for fans to come on if they dont try a coolnt sensor and repeat this over again/thermastat is also some thing u can change(may be when u change coolant sensor/check fan relays and fuses before proceeding with all these remidies

Fixer uper 89 lx 5.0 trouble when hot

That could be coming from a couple of places. first thing I would do if it is an automatic tranny, replace the tranny filter and flush the fluid. If that is not it, check the intake/exhaust manifold gaskets. One of these could have rotten out from old age. Finally, if once the engine heats up, if the oil pressure drops dramatically once the engine is warmed up, rod bearings and main bearings have gone out on it.
