On the both sides of the engine they probably have coils sitting on top of them instead of plug wires

We took off the breather cover on a 2004 chevy trailblazer and there was water in it

Sounds like you may have a bad valve cover gasket. same thing was happening on my wife's Chevy Aveo. Valve cover gasket was worn and when I replaced it and cleaned plug wells, issue was resolved. As for the breather, I really wouldn't know why there's water in there.Only thing I would suggest there is to check your antifreeze level. Is it water from the antifreeze?

My 2003 Chevy Trailblazer suddenly started running rough and stalling, It smelled like fireworks.

1st things first, clean your throttle body. Also, that smell is concerning, have a muffler shop do a back pressure test on the Catalytic converter.

My 2003 chevy trailblazer is getting a po301 code and i'm wondering if you can tell me where the number 1 cylinder is?

Very first one in the front of the engine. Cheapest way to fix this is to replace your spark plugs first. Use AC Delco 41-103, a little more than off brands, but will idle better than any other plug. If this doesn't work, replace the coil pack on cylinder 1. One of these will fix the problem. Also, check the wires that coil plugs into, if all else fails.

Whee are the spark plugs located on a 2003 chevy trailblazer

Underneath all the plastic on the top of the engine. Remove the plastic and remove each of the 6 coils, (2 bolts for each coil). Your plugs are under each coil. Use AC Delco 43-103's, TB's love these more than all others.
