Rebuilding injection pump

84 chev K5 blazer with 6.2 diesel. Want to rebuild my "stanadyne" DB2 injection pump in my shop. Need to know what is factory set so I don't change settings because I do not have calibration equipment. Looking to completely clean and re-seal, it presently not working, fuel is not going through. Would like diagrams and tech info. Thanks GB Marc

What you are looking for does not exist outside Stanadyne. The GM service manual refers their own mechanics to send the pumps out for anything other than basic adjustments. Even the Haynes Diesel Engine Repair Manual, part no. 10330, gives no info on rebuilding or repairing these. They tell you to send it out as well. You might check out The Diesel Page on the net and you may find someone who has done what you want to do and can talk you through it.Good luck.

How do I rebuild a feul pump on a 03 6.0 ford diesel

you don't --it is a job for a specialist diesel shop as it needs extensive equipment and calibration equipment. there are specialist shops that have reconditioned pumps available ready to fit. Talk to an accredited diesel shop and find out the consequences of trying this at home. rest assured that it will cost considerable more than a rebuild or exchange pump.

When i start the 1999 blazer the code p758 and code p1860 comes up and it wont shift gears it says shift circuit electrcal where do i look 4 the shift solenoid at?

Shift solenoids are located inside the transmission and are serviced and replaced as part of the rebuild process.

I would recommend that one tries to look for another transmission that doesn't have this problem, or rebuild the transmission through a local transmission shop.

I have a stanadyne injection pump on a 1986 ford 6.9 liter diesel ,the pump was bought as rebuilt but is way overfueling the engine,a friend and former diesel tech told me the bypass ''button'' may be...

I would take it to a good injection pump shop. Injection pumps are pretty finiky to work on. They require some special test equipment also. Just my 2 cents. Good luck.

1995 Chevrolet Tahoe 6.5 Diesel

I have a 1996 Chevy 3500 6.5 TD, it had two fuel pumps installed. The symptom  the engine dies abruptly. Will not start again. I have the "Helm" OEM service manual for the truck, the closest thing referenced to your 0018 Cam reference Pulse, is Inj Pmp Cam Reference missed. The injection is manufactured  by Stanadyne for Chevrolet. It is an electronic fuel pump that on mine was located directly in the V of the engine and covered with a plastic "beauty" shield that I was told just baked the electronic components of the fuel pump. Chevrolet had a recall on their fuel pumps back in 2003 that were on 1996 and 1997 6.5 TD due to the low sulfur fuels, it paid for replacement by the dealer if this is your original fuel pump. The injector pump has a circuit board that plugs into the right side of the pump as you look at the engine from the front. There are aftermarket PMI's that come with extended wiring harness and plug. The idea is that you throw the pretty plastic 6.5TD cover away and mount the new PMI on the air box intake with some self tapping screws. This keeps the electronics cooler and then if the PMI craps out, you don't have to change the whole pump, which is a pain. Here's the good news, the PMI cost $300, the injector assembly from Chevy $1800, from Stanadyne $1300 for a rebuilt one. You may only have fried the PMi and thus if you get the PMI remote kit from a Stanadyne dealer, usually a good diesel shop will know one (all they make is fuel pumps), it will save you a bundle. Good luck, let me know how it goes.

78' k5 blazer wont shift into 2wd

You have to stop the truck and put it in natural. It should go into 2 wheel drive then. If you have lock outs make sure that they are unlocked.

Rebuilding a chev 3.1 engine

I talked to a friend of mine that owns a machine shop that rebuilds a lot of gas engines. He has a program called Prosis that gives spec for rebuild of almost any engine, it had notes that gave the instructions for installing the rods.
I have been a diesel mechanic for over 40 years and the repair manuals that I work with always give this information. The auto repair manuals at the auto parts stores leave out a lot of details that is important for repairs of any major project.
Thank You
