MAZDA DEMIO.....Car dies when trying to start

My teenage son currently has a 1996 Mazda DEMIO. The computer flags two codes; code 15 and code 21. The car, when started, dies when the gas excellertor is pressed. I currently live in Japan. I took it to an American repair shop who intern sent it to the Japanese Mechanics who do computer work. They looked at the computer and said it was bad. When the computer was put back into the vehicle, the repair shop called the mechanics and was then told that their was nothing wrong with the computer. The repair shop called the Mazda Dealership but they would not provide any information. They suggested that we take it to the Mazda dealership but told us they may not help us. Can you please help us determine what would be causing the car to die when trying to start it.

I was browsing unsolved problems. If you still have the problem, I'll try to help you. But it's going to be awhile trying to communicate back and forth. First...Check the engine for spark. Take off a plug wire and stick a screw driver in the wire end and place the metal part of the screw driver next to something on the van that's metal. Have someone crank it over for just a second or two and see if a small spark jumps from the screw driver to the metal part. I'll check back for your answer.

you have flooded the engine if you go too you fuse box and take out the fuel pump fuse turn the engine over for a while this gets rid of the fuel left in the cups in the engine replace the fuse try it again it will start

In most cases you can get the key made from lock smith and get it reprogrammed at the dealer. They charge it for reprogramming but it works. But if the dealer as well as the locksmith both are saying that they cannot make another key. Then yes you can go for new ignition lock cylinder and get the new key for that new ignition lock cylinder. And this should work. But still before going for new ignition I suggest you to get it confirmed at you local Subaru dealership.


But also before going for new ignition lock cylinder I suggest you to get it confirmed with local car garages as well as other local lock smiths. If all they say no then also you can get this confirmed at .If there is no other option then you can go for new ignition lock cylinder. But removing the old ignition lock cylinder without the key is not very easy job. The ignition lock cylinder internal locks have to be drilled and disengaged to remove it out. Getting the help of local car mechanic in doing this job is very much advisable.

Sorry but a kia uses a seperate diagnostic plug which is under the bonnet and it uses a special connector so how did you manage to read the code ,as the OBDII which is in the cab is only a dummy and doesnt work (europeon market vehicles) The software is all encrypted on models from 2005 or earlier in a lot of cases so i can only assume that its an american market version where the OBDII has to be read for the emmisions test and even here i would imagine that only the basic bits work enough for the emmisions test pass and thats your lot so its down to the dealer to tell you whats wrong and pay their prices .Whjich is why they encrypt the software in the first place to make work for the dealer along with dealer spares prices ---

My mazda demio imobililiser 8 digit code lost and i dont know how to get one or disarm the imobiliser is any solutions . the car is in my mechanic now.

The only option you have is to contact the Mazda Dealer. Give them the Chassis number etc, from this they will be able to give you the factory security code for the antitheft alarm.
All Mazda Dealers have access to this database but only when given specific information which is on the ID plate in your vehicle.

Code 26 is the clockspring under the centre of the steering wheel, you may have problems with your cruise control and horn as well. It will most prob need replacing, could be a diy job but bear in mind the previous threads caution.
