Heater cores in a new car will not be blocked but the heater water flow can be blocked. Remove the heater hoses of the heater core and join the two hoses together and clamp securely Now place a garden hose on one of the heater pipes an see if the water flows out of the other pipe . If not turn on the heater control and see if it does. If not run the engine and move the control and if you still do not get a flow then the fault will be in the control, selector switch or the tap actuator. . If ok then reconnect the heater hoses and clamp tight . It may be necessary to pressure bleed the air out of the system as an air lock will not allow sufficient water through the core to warm the car. The heater will be at engine operating temperature regardless of the ambient air temperature because the thermostat in the engine will only allow enough coolant into the radiator to maintain a constant 85 -95 degrees c. The only core that will fit the car will be one designed for that area but you may get an aftermarket core to fit as manufacturers do not make cores but use items made by radiator manufactures . However you will not have to replace the core . If the heater system is not working as designed to then it is a warranty problem and the dealer is legally required to fix it for you. If you cannot get satisfaction to your problem then contact the customer service division of the manufacturer and state your concerns very plainly.

Do this when cool. Take radiator cap off, start the engine, turn on heat (not defrost) and now top up coolant to about an inch or 2 from top of radiator, as level drops down, and let vehicle run until the radiator fan comes on, then off, about 3 times, and add coolant as needed while it's running. After that, put radiator cap back on tight & make sure return bottle is filled to proper level. Now try that & see how heat is, temperature gauge etc, and keep an eye on return bottle level for a while. Let me know how it is.

either the heater core needs a good flush or their is a tap/valve just inside the car up under the dash normally drivers side ,and the cable has come off the lever or it could have a electric solonoid to open the valve ?' depends on where it was built and for what market as some vehicles do have small variations

Sounds like it's the air control flap which determines the mix of heated and fresh air. This could be vacuum controlled or manually with a cable.
