Question about 1997 Saturn SL
I am trying to take off jus the top of my shifter to put a different one on and do not know wether it screws off or how it comes off period. Please help me.
The shifter is glued onto the boot. Take a flathead screwdriver and put it up against the shift knob and boot, and hit the end of the screwdriver with a hammer, which will losen it up.

Put the shifter in 2nd gear and grip the shift nob firmly with both hands. Watch out for your face though. It's on tight but a good pull should have it off.
