Question about 2005 Dodge Durango
05 Dodge Durango, The front ac won't blow cold. the back seems to be working great just not the front. I charged the system through the low pressure service port. It took a whole can and brought the pressure up to about 35 PSI... The air blew colder for about a day and now back to warm air. Any ideas? I have the same problem. I had a mechanic tell me he thought I had a door that was not completely open to allow the cold air to come through. He said he would need to take the dash apart to open that door up. So i took it to the dealership and they replaced a hose and re calibrated the computer system. 500 dollars later. It still was not fixed. I wish i had the original mechanic fix it. I am taking it back to the dealership to fix the problem i actually had. I wish they would have listened to me in regards to the rear had always worked and it was the front having the problems.
Could be the front door for the front air needs to be propped open so that is blows cold, could also be the a/c compressor or a clog somewhere up front in the vents... it could be numerous things, but i would say try propping the door open, if that doesn't work try replacing the compressor... haynes makes the repair manuals for the truck, goto auto zone, pep boys, etc. and pick up the book they have step by step instructions on how to fix the most common problems and all the different systems of the durango... the book will be very helpful, cause if you do your own work you can find everything easily..... hope this helps you...

you are bodging it and as you dont know anything about the A/C system then leave well alone and get it done with a machine.the whole system needs to be evacuated oil drain needs to be measured then refilled with the correct grade of oil and then regassed with the correct WEIGHT of gas and possibly a leak sealer added using special equipment. If it still doesnt work properly then it needs draining again and the venturi valve removing and checking out on the front unit. This is a specialised job for highly skilled operatives with the right equipment
