2001 2500hd 6.0l multiple cylinder misfire at higher rpms

New Engine seems to run fine but above 2500rpm the SEL flashes. Old engine did the same thing. The code that is set is P300(multiple cylinder misfire). I've tested the MAP sensor, replaced the 02 sensors, swapped out the MAF sensor, cleaned and tested the injectors, searched for vacuum leaks all to no avail.

If you have someone scan it with a scan tool that gives you data stream they can tell you exactly what cylinder is doing it. You might have a bad coil or wire.

Most commonly a valve issue and the knock sensor is advancing or retarding your timing to adjust for this. Can you hear the litters or valves chattering? This causes the multiple misfires! Or your knock sensors could be bad! Or faulty pcv valve and vacuum leaks can also cause a misfire.

Most commonly I have found that the cap and rotor design is not that good. I have replaced them in some situations, after three months. Also the plug wires are not as easy to put on as they might seem. Inspect them, make sure the black clip on each plug wire(to the cap) is in place. And make sure when you attach the plug wire to the cap that you hear or feel a small ratcheting or clicking as they are slid on. If not then they are not on properly.

It seems that you have tried many things, paid various people (mechanical wizards) for different repairs that may have been unnecessary because they did not solve your problem, yet you did not take the advice of the Honda people. You can keep trying your luck with non-Honda repairs but my point of view is that you should two the car to the nearest Honda Service Center. Maybe they will identify a design flaw that will require a recall and your repairs will be free of charge.

Have you checked the throttle body? That requires an annual cleaning and could very well be the cause of the issues you have with your Honda.

I have a 2004 3.9L Mustang with the "check engine soon" light on. I read the codes and 0300, 0301, 0305 and 0316 were up, while the car was still driving fine. Soon, it started to lose strenght, I bar

Best to read the codes first---code p0300 refers to random multiple cyl-- misfire detected causes-- spark plugs---HT leads--ignition coils--wiring.
code p0301 refers tocylinder 1-- misfire detected causes ---engine mechanical fault---wiring---ignition /fuel system ---injector---ECT/Maf sensor(Mass air flow) ECM.
code p0305 refers to cylinder 5 misfire detected causes ---same as 0301
code p0316 refers to misfire detected during start up -first 1000 rpms---causes--- engine mechanical fault---wiring----ignition/fuel system---injector. I would run a fuel system pressure pressure test as the common causes here is the fuel/injectors

My 1997 pontiac grand am just started flashing the check engine light and seems to be resting and using higher rpms. what should I be looking for?

If the check engine light is flashing this indicates that a cylinder or cylinders are misfiring. If the rpms are increasing you may have a vacuum leak causing the misfire. Would check for any disconnected vacuum lines or a possible plenum/upper intake gasket leaking. To do this you can spray induction cleaner around the upper plenum to check and see if the gasket may be leaking.

Have a 2006 PT Crusier that rough idle, and check engine light is on with code for #3 cylinder misfire. Replaced spark plugs and wires. Still have engine light on for #3 cylinder misfire. Seems to be fine...

I would start by having your codes cleared. If a fouled plug was the culprit, the pcm may not have reconized that it was fixed.

Try running a bottle of sea foam through it. You could have a sticking fuel injector.

As a last resort , have a compression test done. A crack in the clyinder head could also cause this issue.

I hope this gets you started :)

Trouble codes for saturn ls2 car is showing the following trouble codes. po300, po306, po451 p2bo3 and c112b

P0300 Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected

P0306 Cylinder 6 Misfire Detected

P0451 EVAP Pressure Sensor Range/Performance

I have no idea what those last two are. Typo, maybe?

Your first two codes could be caused by old spark plugs and/or leaking plug wires.

Your EVAP code could be a bad fuel tank pressure sensor or a malfunctioning EVAP system. With that code, if you remove your fuel cap and get a whoosing sound, then it is an issue with your EVAP system not properly venting the tank. If you don't get that sound, then the tank pressure sensor is bad.
