If you are referring to the metal part the axle slides into,It's cold the transmission,If it is leaking around the shaft it is called the inner cv axle seal,But if something blew up,I'd let a mechanic physically look at it.

You can go to the auto parts store like Autozone and have them print one out for you for free though.

I have answered your questions,But rating as inappropriate will not get you any other answer,If you need more help,You post your needs,You don't rate free help negatively.

So if you need more help,Post what you need,You can take a picture of the part in question and post it as well. But no one can guess what part is broke and inappropriate rating don't help either.

You will not find the book or diagram online unless you buy it,If you would like to buy the book,I can get the website for you.

So Please consider changing the rating

98 Pontiac grand Prix 3.8, over heating, antifreeze disappearing, transmission slipping, is it possible for transmission fluid to leak into the radiator?

Yes, your transmission cooler is inside of the side tank of the radiator. If your coolant looks like pink sludg, then there is a good chance that you need your cooling system and trans fuid flushed and a new radiator installed.

Trans axle fluid level

Look for check plug on the side of the transmission. (Should be mid way up or higher on the side)
Remove plug and insert pinky finger.
Fluid should be at that level.
If not, add until it starts to pour back out.

Reinstall plug and drive.

Lay down some plastic with some rags over it to catch the mess so you don\'t booger up the driveway and please make sure the brake is on AND you have the tires blocked.

2000 grand prix leaks water underneath the radiator. It looks like a round circle with black rubber around it. It has two of these look like plugs, but only leaks on the passenger side. What do you call...

Those are the rubber insulators that insulate the radiator from the metal part of the lower radiator support. They have nothing to do with the radiator leaking fluid. The fluis is likely coming from the tank seam on the side of the radiator and running down to that part. There is nothing you can service on the radiator. If its leaking the whole radiator will need to be replaced.

I can't find the area to put in power steering fluid. And I have looked over the engine, and I just can't locate it.

the p/s pump is behind the passenger side of the engine below the heater hoses you will need a long trans. funnel to add fluid..

Transmission leak

It will show high if you do not have the engine running when you test the level of the trans fluid. The seal is worn and it will probably not stop leaking on its own.

1990 Grand Prix with 4 speed that will not engage sometimes

high milage & 20 Y old, It sounds like the trany is going, yes it could be a connection some where but more then likely the clutches are going or the pump is going (which means your not getting the presure you need to engage the clutches, check to see if you are leaking trany fluid). You can try changing the fluid and filters. You will need to take the Trans Pan off to change the filter, this may help, but will not be a solution, simply a way of prolonging the most probable issue; it could also accelerate the issue, depending on how regularly the filter has been changed. Good luck!

My 04 grand prix is leaking coolant. It was first

I had the same problem. The leak was from the block heater.I did not notice any leaks on the ground, but was always low on anti freeze. The block heater came apart on the highway and blew all the fluid out of the car, luckly i shut the car off and had it towed to the shop. They replaced the block heater with a rubber frost plug to get me back on the road.Have your block heater checked, they maybe your problem has well.
