Have you checked to see if you are getting power to the coil? if you are not then there is your problem, if you are then i would suggest maybe rotor button, main lead from coil to dizzy there are not too many thing that can go wrong. have you checked to see if the dizzy turns when you crank the motor?? if not you have a broken cam or timing chain. if you have replaced the dizzy then it cant be the elec pickup in there. good luck hope i have helped. matt

there should be power from the ignition barrel through your fuse box, ign fuse i think and then onto the coil, if you cant trace it all you need is 12v power when the ign is on, so you could always splice into another circuit that powers up when ignition on. hope this was helpfull

Hi guys i have a 1989 ford xf falcon ute and i got a starting problem! I wants to start but everytime i touch the throttle to get it to run it dies straight away, i have checked for spark and it is really...

If you can get it to run a tad more by just spraying starter fluid into carb, then the carb needs to be cleaned, repaired, or replaced. All the spark, compression in the world will get you no where without the gas!!!!!!

Ford 86 xf won't turn over, have tried spark

check for a blown fuse, and check your battery cables to see that they are properly conected to the starter.

Xf falcon ute dies driving up hill

have had a few of these in with carb faults but were 2 barrel type.basic checks first,is pcv valve hose under carb not split(runs to valve cover or oil cap on this model?).try driving without airfilter element for test, have had one in that looked clean but had a fine mist of oil on it that blocked and caused air starve and stall on power.Did both problems start at same time? or maybe you are chasing 2 probs.being a ute.I have had probs with rusting petrol tanks and blocked fuel filters

Ford laser kh 1.6 ltr carby with a big problem

you'll have to reset the timing marks on cam and crank, check no1 is at TDC, and look at distrubuter to make sure it firing on no1.
if you split the hydraulic line, you'll have to bleed the line.
good luck. cheers !

87 toyota 22R no spark

To check the Coil, pull the HT lead that comes from the coil to the dissy cap out of the dissy cap and hold close to the engine and with the ignition switch turned on earth the negative side of the coil. If there is no spark then the coil is the likely problem. If there is spark then check that the ignitor is recieving the signal from the pick-up (use an LED tester at the ignitor plug) the tester should blink as you crank the engine over. If the tester doesn't blink then check the output of the pick-up at the plug on the side of the dissy, if still no blink then check the pick-up clearance. If it blinks at the dissy and not at the ignitor the check the wires/plugs for breaks. If it blinks at the ignitor and there is still no spark then the ignitor is the likely fault.

Firing order for a 1996 EF ford falcon

EF & EL are 1,5,3,6,2,4
EF has a coil pack under the inlet manifold the EL has a distributor
EF uses a waste spark system so 2 plugs are fired at the same time eg 1 & 6 - 2 & 5 - 3 & 4
