Well if the dealer said its too old to look up anymore I'm afraid theres nothing you can do unless you have the original owners manual for this vdub it will be in that. Thats probably not the answer your looking for but the dealer is the ONLY one that can give that info.

Take the radio out, call the dealer with the serial number and they will give you a code for it, in your manual it will tell you how to relearn.

1996 vw jetta stereo on safe mode .can't turn on .need a code .where i can find the code

Radio code is specific for each and every car. It is specific like anti theft code.

So you can get it by providing your VIN# and registration details in authorised dealership.Nobody else can provide you. If anybody can provide you that , then there is no meaning of security for your car..

You need the radio code for yours radio.Because - I think-you bought new car in yours users manual you must have four digits code for the radio.Additional attachment. If do not-contact our experts with serial number of the radio to get the code.

If i get a new cd player/radio for my jetta work if in safe mode?

If you buy another factory radio it'll need the unlock code to work with your factory alarm system. But if you go with an after market radio it'll work just fine, your alarm will just think there's no radio installed.
