Question about 1997 Volkswagen Jetta
The sunroof on my 1997 Jetta is busted. The glass and motor are fine, but the track and the plastic bits that hold and slide the sunroof have snapped. I need to replace the whole mounting hardware (bracket system). How is this done, and where would/should I get the parts for this? I'd like to do this myself; is it done from the interior, removing the whole headliner? Is this a rather easy job, and how long should I expect it to take? I'm no expert, but I'm rather handy at basic mechanics. Thank you so much!
You will be money ahead by letting the dealer do this job. the headliner is a nightmare in itself.

Hey i have 95 VW jetta too with the exact problem, my friend told me it is a common problem. I Too would like to get this fixed. So far i only found autopartswarehouse.com has one for 155 dollars. I started to take it apart and it looks like only one of my brackets brole so i'm going to see if some guerilla glue will do the trick. good luck and let me know if you find out anything.
