There is a pump inside the transmission and the trans would have to come out to get to it. If it is making a noise it is likely that you have metal fragments all through the tranny and in most cases you can't get it flushed properly. Best bet, get a used tranny and swap it out. Also remember to flush the tranny cooler in the radiator. Better still, don't use it and fit an auxiliry tranny cooler to prevent getting fragments into the new tranny.
I hope this helps

Transmission leak spraying bad under motor on 2000 crycler concord LX 3.8

transmission line is loose @ connection, or has a hole(leak) in the line, even a crack in housing. trans is a large pump, high pressure, if you have a leak, just start your car and look under it, you'll know real quik.

1999 grand cherokee engine starts butwill not move in any of the gear selections. Scanned with autoenginuity scantool shows dtc codes p1767 and p1784

P1784 low reverse pressure switch sense circuit.
Start by checking fluid level and condition. then check electrical connections. if all ok, probably solenoid in the valve body assembly.

P1767 Transmission Relay Always On. Transmission Range Sensor Circuit Malfunction (PRNDL Input)

Start with the simple and Check your fuses and transmission fluid level, if the level is good and the condition of the fluid is good. There may be an issue with your solenoid or your transmission pump. You can check your pump buy checking your transmission fluid level with the engine not running and take note where the level is. Then start the engine and check the fluid level again, if the level has gone down. The your pump is good, if it does not go down. Then your pump has gone bad and your going to have to rebuilt the transmission or replace the pump.

You better of replacing the whole transmission of the pump has gone bad, since the low transmission fluid pressure would have worn out most for your clutches throughout the transmission.

Thank you for using Fixya and hope is just a simple Solenoid that has gone bad or a wire harness that has shorted out.

My 2003 chrysler concorde is leaking transmission fluid. what is causing that?

All depends on where it's leaking from. If it's leaking from the transmission pan, then it's going to be a bad transmission pan gasket. If it's leaking from the transmission cooler line or connections from the transmission to the radiator, replace the line or the connections or just the O-rings in the connections. If it's leaking from the transmission housing where the engine and transmission mates, then it may be the from pump or Torque Converter. The leak could be coming from the CV joint inner shaft where it connects to the transmission. Good luck and keep am eye on your transmission oil level, low transmission fluid will cause transmission failure.

Transmission wont shift and odometer quit working.

There is a good chance that the Vehicle Velocity Sensor (V V S) has gone bad or the wire leads from the sensor has gone bad. The sensor is on the tail end shaft of the transmission on the driver's side and cost around $37.00 at the dealers and can be replaced with common tolls in about 15 min. It's like replacing a spark plugs, if your still not sure. You can pick up the sensor at Auto Zone and they can give you the step by step instructions to replacing the sensor. Good luck and be safe, oh and the other thing to is to check the fuse to the transmission.

94 Chrysler Concorde Tranny Problems

Have your transmission oil filter changed;
it is located under the transmission pan
The oil is what makes the transmission shift
When you shut off the engine it stops the transmission pump then when you start up again the transmission shifts until the filter clogs again

1995 Chrysler Concorde transmission diagram

There are 3 places it could be coming from. (1) The outer rubber seal on the pump between it and the case (2) The metal clad seal in the center of the pump that seals against the converter hub (3) And, the 5 bolts that hold the pump in have washers under them. The seal around the outside likes to get hard and brittle with age, especially if it has gotten hot before, leading to cracks that leak. The converter seal will wear naturlaly from doing it's job and more so if the pump bushing is wore out. The bolts that hold the pump in can get loose because of vibration letting oil out around the threads and out into the world.

If you pull it out and don't find loose bolts or obvious signs of a leak, then I suggest changin out all the places I mentioned. If you take the trans out and tip it on it's ****, then the pump comes out with a couple slide pullers. Be careful not to let the clutch-pack(inputshaft) slide out any, this will make going back together easier. There is a gasket between the inside of the pump and the case that will most likely need replaced too so get that as well; it seals all the ports and passages around the pump. Replace the outer square "O"-ring and the metal clad seal in the middle, then lube the outer seal and set the pump in place. Line it up and drive it in with the handle of any hammer. Torque it down(23ft. lbs.) with new washers for the bolts or new bolts with integeral washers. Be sure to loctite the threads as well to prevent them loosening up. Wiggle turn the input shaft to double check it isn't bound up and then just put it back in the car.

It sounds like a pain and it can be, but, it's easy after you do a couple thousand. Just like falling off a log. Hopefully you just have to do it once.
