The fuel filter is located just after the gas tank at the back. The filter is fitted to tube with standard tube fittings. You may also want to check the vent of your tank. You may just be having a plugged tank vent.

I HAVE A 1991 3000GT VR4 MIT WHAT IT IS DOING IS WHEN I TRY TO PRESS ON THE GAS IT HESITATE?

Fuel-injected cars often experience clogs in the oil filter. This is especially a problem for cars that are filled up with low-quality gas and cars that have recently run out of gas. Try adding a fuel injector cleaner and filling up with premium gas for a couple weeks. In addition, check to see if the fuel injectors are functioning properly, and make sure the fuel pressure is within normal range.
For cars with carburetors, check the fuel pump. This is an essential part for fuel delivery, so it is the first thing to check when a car is hesitating during acceleration. It's also possible that the car is hesitating when accelerating because the carburetor is failing.
If the problem persists, have the spark plugs tested to see if there is a malfunction. Also inspect the wiring for frayed edges. Other things to check include the air filter, fuel filter, timing and gas leaks.

My Mazda 1998 B4000 looses power when I drive and than the power comes back. It is intermitted . I was investigating and could be my fuel relay. I already changed the fuel filter and did not correc

Test fuel pressure when key on/ engine off, and when running and compare to specs. Could be bad fuel pump, relay, regulator, gas cap, injector failing.

89 7.3 IDI Diesel won't run.

The fuel filter light comes on to tell you that there is Water In The Fuel tank at a level high enough to be picked up by the fuel pump. Your problem is a fuel delivery system that is full of water. Drop the tank and clean it out first. There is a very specific procedure for replenishing the fuel system with good fuel. The best thing to do is pick up a copy of Haynes Diesel Engine Repair Manual, Part #10330 as it outlines the procedure. However, if you are unable to get the book reply in the comment section and I can type it out for you. It requires 14 steps.
While you are doing this it would be a good idea to also replace any and all rubber pieces of fuel line. They have been known to collapse over time, when the pump comes on. Make sure you get fuel line that is diesel specific, regular gas line won't work. You mentioned replacing the injector pump so it will need to be taken to a diesel shop to be re-timed. Timing involves tools that are expensive and not normally accessable bu you and I.
The Hanes manual is an excellent investment at about $22. It provides excellent repair procedures for your engine as well as some service up-dates and shortcuts.

Just because a fuel pump buzzes, means little, very little.

What parts do I need for 91 F150 xlt 5.0. Tune up! My X, put power steering fluid in my gas, thought it was the fuel injection cleaner I bought at same time! I have put several treatments & have ran it...

You could try another fuel filter and some heavy duty injector cleaner. A garage would use a product that hooks into the fuel line and skips the gas tank to clean the injectors. The PS fluid could have also gummed up the fuel pump in the tank.

Ran completely out of gas last week - put gas in - car started fine- ran a little rough and idled rough. Now 10 days later MIL light on in dash and perform service message. Won't go out after several

have the fuel filter changed and have the computer checked for codes incase something else is going on and they can be cleared to turn off the light.any dirt in the lines should be out of them by now.its possible that there is dirt in the injectors and a fuel system service should be done to clean them which is a recomended service on all cars anyways.you can have the fuel pressure checked while its in the shop to make sure the pressure is within specs.

When u push on the gas it spits and sputters, it ran out of gas like 2 weeks ago and yes sometimes i do let it run low on gas. It spits and sputters when i turn a corner or go up a hill

Could be a clogged fuel filter, and or dirty fuel injectors. Try running some strong injector cleaner through it. It may take 2 or 3 times before it cleans the injectors out fully.

I have a 97 f350 with 7.3l diesel. im driving down the road and check engine light comes on and has a loss of power. i shut truck off and then restart and light is out and runs fine for a little while then...

It sounds like a loss of fuel pressure caused by a clogged fuel filter. Replacing the filter in the engine compartment should solve your problem. but if continues or comes back within a week or two it could mwan that the mesh filter on the pick-up pipe in the fuel tank is also clogged and requires cleaning due to picking up a batch of dirty fuel. If the fuel tank filter is clogged then it would py to drain and flush the tank to remove any impurities to prevent the problem recurring.
