Question about 1999 Dodge Durango
The starter is located on the drivers side about midway down the side of the motor. there are two bolts that hold it in place, and a couple of wires that are held on by small bolts.
To remove the starter first disconnect the battery and then place the vehicle on a block with the front end elevated just ennough to remove the drivers side front tire. removing the tire should give you enough room to get to the starter through the tire well. then just unbolt the wires and take the two mounting bolts out and the starter should just slip right out. to reassemble just work in reverse order.
