1993 Ford bronco fuel line

Im a rookie to say the least and yea a girl. I tried to change the fuel filter and was told no special tools were needed, just keep pulling, I did for three days. I got it out, only to find out i was supposed to use a tool. The lip of the old filter did break off in the line. The garter springs were going both ways. I removed them and got the broken piece out. Now what???

I have a 1994 ford bronco and every site I visit says to get the tool to unhook the fuel filter on my bronco I bought the tool and it is to long to get between the filter and the line any solutions

I use a plastic tool to release the fuel line. I have ground it down to fit between the line and the filter. You can buy the disconnect set from any NAPA parts store in the plastic version. I'm guessing you have the metal tool

Fuel filter on 97 ford explorer

Fuel Filter Replacement on 97 Explorer There's no trick, but you do need a special tool.

1. Remove the safety retainers from the fuel line/filter connections.

2. Install the special tool between the line & filter & slide it toward the filter to release the metal tangs that hold the line to the filter.

3. Slide the line off of the filter.

Yes it is the tool for fuel lines and ac lines. Your local autoparts store should have them, they are universal. You need to use the small end for the fuel filter.

Do I need a special tool to change a 2005 Excursion fuel filter?

I changed the fuel filter in my 04 explorer last week. You to need a special tool, it is just a little plastic tool that you slide onto the fuel line to release the clips holding the line onto the filter. If you know what your doing and have easy access to the filter, and most importantly...you enjoy doing the work then buy the tool and change the filter. By the way the tool ranges from $5 to $20, depending on what the part store has on their shelves.

Is there a special tool to remove the fuel pump in a 1992 ford bronco? any ideas?

You might need a set of fuel line disconnect tools, but you can buy them at a part store for ten bucks. Other than that, just basic hand tools.

How to change fuel filter on 1996 Ford Bronco, 5.8 l engine

You'll need to have a fuel line disconnect tool. This tool can be made of plastic or metal, but the utilization is the same. You can purchase these tools at most auto parts stores. The fuel lines have a "quick disconnect" end on them where the filter attaches. After you've relieved the pressure from the fuel line (line pressure's usually around 60psi so you should wear eye protection). Techniques vary you can remove the fuel pump relay, and start the engine till it shuts down, or (needs another special tool). Attach hose from tool to test port on fuel rail by injectors and drain fuel into suitable container. You can also remove the cap from the test port and with a rag covering the port to catch fuel, depress the schrader vale (like a tire valve). This isn't really the best way, because gasoline can get on you and will inevitably get on the engine. Not always a good situation if engines hot. (To be honest with you, at work I usually just slightly disconnect the line at the filter. Only enough to bleed the fuel pressure off and let it drain into a bucket.) To remove, you'll have to insert the tool into the line around the filter neck at one end. You'll then be able to separate it from the filter. Repeat on other end. You may have to wiggle and twist a bit, as the filter necks might be sticking to the o-ring seal in the connector. Don't force it, as you can damage the connection, and you'll then be purchasing new fuel lines. Most of these filters are retained in a bracket on the frame rail using a big hose clamp. Naturally you'll have to loosen that to pry out and remove the filter. Aside from the initial fuel spillage, and any fuel that might drain down through the lines, the fuel in the tank will remain in the tank. Typically the filter is mounted well above the tank where the pickup tube is located, so siphoning won't be an issue.
I hope this helps

Remove fuel lines from the fuel filter on a 93 f150 ford truck

There is a special tool used to disconnect the lines from the fuel filter. You should be able to get them at any local automotive shop, i.e., Pepboys, Autozone, Chief Auto. It should be relatively cheap to buy this tool.
