99 Dodge ram 2500 with cummins diesel stalled and won't restart. Changed fuel filter, and determined that there is fuel going to injector pump.

loosen one fuel line to one of the injectors, try to start the truck and look for the fuel to spray out of the line. it should spray rather hard if the injector pump is working right. if it just dribbles or trickles out you have a weak pump.

I HAVE A 1998 DODGE 3500 P/U DIESEL. THE WAIT OT START LIGHT KEEPS FLASHING. IT WILL CRANK BUT NOT START>

The wait to start light is telling you there's a problem. Check out your drivers guide. There can be a whole load of problems causing this problem, water in the diesel, blocked fuel filter, no diesel, but if it cranks and starts eventually. The glow plugs probably need replacing.

2004 dodge p0628 code does not start

those year trucks have bad lift pumps on the diesel engine. it is located near the fuel filter. they are also known for starving the injecter pump for lubrication oil due to the pumps low capacity. it is now recomended that an in the tank pump change over kit be installed

I have a 2003 Dodge 3500 with a 5.9L Cummins engine in it. It will only start when you use Ether. What do you suggest I do to fix this problem?

Either the fuel pump is not working (or bad fuel pump relay)
Plugged fuel filter.
Not enough fuel pressure.

Dodge cummins won't start, fuel reaching injector pump but no fuel coming out of injector pump.

You said you have fuel flowing from the inlet line of the injection pump? But not at the injector lines?

Pick up Not starting

I had a similar problem with my 95 Dodge with a cummins in it. Took forever to figure it out and so every morning, or if it sat 6-8 hours, would have to operate the primer pump under the hood to get it started for the day. Long story short. There is a fuel supply line to your engine and all diesels have a fuel return to to the fuel tank. After replaciing a section of fuel supply line with no results, discovered there has been a history of undetectable micro perferations in the steel fuel return line. The defective section of return line is normally the section in front of the firewall. I replaced this section with rubber hose. Its been several years since I did this repair... and if I recall correctly, hacksaw removed the firewall section of steel return tubing and hose clamped a section of rubber fuel line to replace the steel line I removed. I've never had a problem with engine starts since doing this repair. Hope this helps you out.
Regards Richard

Dodge 3500 diesel lift pump

When the key is turned to the start position, the pump should run for about 20 seconds. Do this 3 or 4 times to prime the pump.

If it still doesn't start, the bad lift pump may have damaged the injection pump. Crack a fuel line loose (don't remove it) and turn the engine over, you should have fuel at the fitting.
