Is that the so called actuator?

Both headlights won't open. The motor is working on both hideaway headlights. If i help it open by pushing on the bar it opens. Is there an adjustment on these hideaway lights.

SOURCE: headlight fuse 1998 firebird

The fuse box you are looking for is under the hood. You will find a black square box and it should say FUSE on top. Take the lid off and the cover should have the location of the headlamp fuse. If it is not the fuse/breaker it could be a bad dimmer switch in the column.

SOURCE: 2000 pontiac firebird headlights make grinding niose when closed

This problem is caused by the headlight gear being stripped. If you go on ebay, there is someone who sells brass headlight gears. Once you put the gear in, you will not have this problem again. . . unless the other gear goes bad. It's usually the driver's side headlight that does it.

Reversed the wires on my 2000 Pontiac Firebird headlight motors. Now the headlights go up and down like they should randomly. It almost seems like they are sticking on something. Any advice?

Generally weird stuff like this is caused by the gears in the headlights being stripped. You can search for tutorials on opening the motors and flipping the gear. It only uses half the gear so if it's flipped you use the other side.

Since you know you reversed the wires, I'd look into the headlight control module. Probably zapped it.

My left side light wont go up or down on my 1998 pontiac firebird

Hi. I'm guessing your meaning your window. If so my first guess is that its electric and I would say your window motor has gone bad. But if you recently spilled something on the switch or haven't cleaned the switch area over time, the swich can become shorted out or nonconductive when depressed. I would have a shops advice on the r/r of both.

I just looked at a wiring diagram for the year and make of your car and it shows a circuit breaker for the right and left side headlamp motors. This is probably be located inside you fuse panel. It will say HDLP #1 & #2. Ihop that this helps, if you need the wiring diagram I can email it to you.

The left headlight will not go down!

Your headlamp lift motor is bad. Go to your local autoparts store buy new one it will run about 70 bucks. Or they have metal gears they sell on the internet that i hear last much longer than the plastic gears they put in. It is very simple to change the part if you are semi-familiar with cars.

Headlight is out

Headlights are pretty easy. They sell the whole light at autoparts stores. There is a plastic cover over the high and low beams that must be taken off (it is held by 3 screws) then just unscrew the old lights and replace them with the new ones. You should do the left and right side headlights at the same time though.
