Question about 2006 Chevrolet Malibu

Ignition sticks when starting. Finally srarts after 2 tries. Now does not start

I own a 2006 chevy malibu. Since I bought it used at the time it has approximately 25 thousand miles on it. Since bought, the ignition sometimes stays stuck for a short time and them on second try turns on and has been doing this for about 2 years. Well when I took it in to delearship they placed computer on it and stated nothing showed up as wrong. Now it does not turn on at all. What do you think it is. The battery went dead trying to get it started. Help

Before the battery went dead, it was turning as if to start but then never turned over. I tried several times and the had power and sounded like it wanted to starte but hen stall out and not start. 2 weeks ago when when turning it on, it was sratrting but making a noise as if it barely wanted to turn but had plenty of battery life.

Sounds like the starter motor is bad.. i have had multiple vehicles where the starter stays engaged too long after start up.. and now that it doesnt start should be easy to diagnose...

I put an ignition switch in a 1999 chevy malibu and now it wont start

Currently is the security light flashing when you try and start it? Is so try this procedure it will take 30 minutes total to complete
PASSKEY LOCKOUT RESET ALL GM CARS 1999 AND UP
1) Put the key in the ignition and turn to the "ON" position. Leave it that way for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes turn the key and take it out. Repeat this process (2) more times (3 times, 30 minutes total) This should reset the PASSKEY system to recognize your key

2003 chevy malibu won't start and seems to be with the fuel pump

Try this I got it from the emission wiz
Put your key in turn it on dont start wait 10 mins remove key wait 10 seconds repeat this a total of 3 times. If that dont work try a different key do the same thing. This relearns your key to the ignition it started with Gm cars and trucks from 1999 to to 2006. It is a big problem but there is no recall that I know of. If that dont work a dealer needs to probably replace and reprogram your ignition switch and keys

2005 Chevy Malibu starting problem

Sounds to me like you should check your battery and connections to it. Maybe they are dirty or corroded- not allowing full amperage to start your car or recharge the battery fully.

Just a relatively easy check and usually a no- cost fix!!!
Hope this helps you out!!

2005 Chevy Malibu starting problem

sounds like its a gas problem. i would normally say its the pump but if you replaced it already then its not likely. i would look and see if there is anything in the tank clogging the pump. something may have got sucked up in there while you are turning.

If the light has not stop blinking when you wait ten minutes then it is not going to crank. My does it a lot but after 10 minutes the light has stopped blinking. I think that the ignition switch needs replacing or maybe just the key is worn out. I think when anybody goes to fix this GM problem it is a guessing game.
