Question about 2004 Honda Civic
2004 honda civic 2 door. The remote for the driver side lock stop locking the door. (have since put in a new battery, didn't help) Then recently the lock was so bad, couldn't get the key in the lock. Have had the lock replaced, but the remote still doesn't lock the driver side. It does lock the passenger side.
Hi there you say you have had the lock changed do you mean the key hole or the door closure part of the lock?
if you changed the key part its the main lock that's faulty and the reveres is true ,
if the remote is working on one door it is not the remote that's the problem.
i hope that this has been helpful regards John

SOURCE: Honda Civic 2003 door mirror
I would bet it's a mirror-image (sorry...) of the driver's side installation. See http://www.civicforums.com/forums/21-i-c-e-electrical/289740-diy-front-door-speaker-install-coupe-sedan.html and migrate ~1/3 the way down to the pic labeled "Remove Sail Panel." If you already have the mirror it is probably as simple as replacing the existing outside cover with the mirror. If you're not sure you can do this on your own ask a mechanically-minded friend for help. Search the internet with http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=%2B2003+%2Bhonda+%2Bcivic+%2Bfront+%2Bdoor+%2Bmirror for 50k hits - good luck!

you must carefully pop off the door plastic clips using a screwdriver and prying gently until they pop out , also remove the screws under any small round plastic screw cover inserts and in the plastic door handle area

There is a service bulletin that relates to a P1456 code which is a possible loose gas cap. The actual problem is that the gas cap binds when you try to tighten it and will click before it is tight. A new cap is only a temporary solution.

SOURCE: code radio honda civic 2004
you will need the radios serial number which is located on top of the unit itself. Then take that number and any Honda dealer will be able to give you the new code. Sometimes it is on a sticker with your owners manual. i am still a tech and we run into this all of the time on Hondas.
