Question about 1996 Chevrolet Cavalier
Well the first thing to do would be to check the oil but im guessing you did that already so it could be a couple of things first as long as the oil pressure is fine it could be a faulty sensor most sensors plug into the bottom of the sump and can be pulled out and cleaned
second it could be the pump the light is on because the pump is not gettin the oil up into the block and the oil pressure is staying very low
best bet would be to take it to a shop.hope this helped
