How much freon does a 2002 tahoe has rear ac

Some systems take around 54 ounces, 3 1/2 pounds. This when it is empty. To fill, I always use a set of gauges. The low pressure gauge you can buy with a can it not good to use. You can fill it to say 45 pounds pressure, which is around right at 85 degrees. But the high side could be reading 400 pounds. Something will blow out at that pressure.

Iwaant t know how to recharge a/c on 2012 ford escape

Get a recharge kit from an auto parts store. There'll be a rubber line in the kit with a T-handle or a knob on it that must be turned out until the can lid piercing pin is up and clear of placing it on the can. Mount/push this connection onto the can but don't turn the handle in yet. Find the 2 caps on the AC lines and remove the smaller cap. It's black like the one on your tire fill. Only one of the fittings will fit the line. One is too large. The smaller one is the fill line fitting. Attach the rubber line to this fitting, start the engine and now pierce the can with the T-handle/knob so the compressor will suck the Freon into the system until the can is empty. You can use my trick of placing the Freon can in a container of hot water to be sure it empties completely. Now check to see is your AC working. Normally only 1 can will suffice to get the AC working. Too much Freon is just as bad as not enough. Remove the rubber line from the system after screwing the T-handle/ knob back into the canister to close it. Put the cap back on the line and your done. Open the canister back up with the end in a wet rag in case there's a little Freon left in the can, and dispose of the canister properly. Hide the rubber line somewhere for later use. You can purchase the Freon canisters singly now.

How many psi do u need to fill with freon

Freon is not installed with psi. It is installed by vacuum. Proper installation includes vacuum system (if empty of freon) and checking to make sure it holds vacuum for 30 to 60 minutes prior to adding the freon..

How do you refill freon in a 2002 mercury grand marquis

That depends on where you are. If you are in the US and it uses the new freon, you can get a refill kit from any automotive store. Most new systems use a different size connector on the high and low side of the compressor. You will connect the refill can to low pressure side of the compressor. You do this while the engine and AC is running. You can also get a kit that contains a meter to allow you to measure the pressure as you are filling the system. The meter will be marked to show you when the system is at the right level. I have found most of these to be only semi-accurate but at least give you some sort of indication.

If the system is empty, then you have a leak and that will need to be fixed first. You can purchase leak detector freon to do this. This freon contains a colored dye that will help you locate where the leak is. When filling a completely empty system or one that has to be disassembled, you need to evacuate the system with vacuum pump and have to add oil to the system.

If your system uses the older style freon system, it has to be done by a licensed shop. It is no longer legal to purchase the older freon at the consumer level in the US.

How to add refrigerants? To a 2000 buick lesabre. My car is blowing hot air it went from cool to hot. and now it just hot air coming out.

look for the fitting that is the smaller of the two and is attached to the line that is the larger of the two, this is the "low" fill side, add 2 cans of r134a freon each can is one pound the system empty holds 2 3/4 pounds of freon thats 2 3/4 cans.
I would buy 1 can of leak detector/freon combo and one can of dye/freon combo, if it takes more add a small amount of a third can that has an oil mixture in with the freon that would complete your systems needs the cheapest and fastest way possible.
If you want it done to the book then you need to have a certified A/C man vacumn pump down the system, replace the reciever drier, add freon and oil to fill the system and then check for leaks.
Happy Motoring!!

When i turn on ac it blows hot air

Normally due to low freon. Also, notice if the a/c compressor clutch engages, as it will not if the freon is low.

Adding freon to 2002 mustang how much

If the system is empty, look for information on the hood or somewhere in the engine compartment and it would tell you how many ounces of freon the system holds. If the system is empty this is how much you should add to make it full. If the system is not empty, hookup gauges and filled the system with the compressor or air conditioning running. Pressure on the low side should be between 30 and 75 pound. Good luck.
