Question about 2004 Dodge Ram 1500
2004 RAM 1500 5.7L pops code P2175. Truck sputters and dies while driving along in traffic. Pull over and restart and truck runs fine. This happens every coulpe of weeks. Only thing is code P2175 now flashing in my check engine light constantly. Any ideas as to what in the throttle actuator control system is triggering this? Thank you.

SOURCE: 1996 Dodge Ram runs and dies
Google for Refurbished PCM "brain" and call the site from Florida. My Durango kept stalling wihtout warning and I replaced the PCM for < $300.00 and no problems since.

I had same problem on mine. The wire harness under the throttle body cover rubbed and was cut in two. If you remove the cover and unplug the etc you can feed the harness under the plug wires to inspect them.very common problem on this vehicle.

try getting some throttle body cleaner from you parts store, and give your throttle body a good cleaning. I just did that my self, after taking off the air filter unit off and the "HEMI" box (sorry i don't know what that's called) you will have good access to your throttle body. With the engine off, prop open the throttle body with a wedge, and you will see it black. When you spray the cleaner it will desovle right away, if not a soft brush maybe a old toothbrush and srcub. Also spray the air box, tube, and "HEMI" box. When you start it again it will run a little wierd but let it run for a couple minutes, turn it off then restart. Should be good as new.

SORRY but you have a very typical dodge problem.dodges are VERY well known for these little and big wiring problems.you can find an electrical expert thats highly recomended or the dealer.if you don't fix it well,my grandads had some small problems fuel hand radio insturment panel would all stop working some times and some times work fine, then one day it burned the whole harness inside truck and under hood then it really cost a pretty penny.hope you get her fixed..

it doesn't have a fuel pump relay it has a fuel pump control unit and it is located on the chassis back quarter drivers side near the tube cross member for chassis on top of chassis rail near bed mount. locate the rear springs front perch and it will be above that on top of rail.
hope this helps. good luck and please ask any question you have.
