I have a honda civic 2007 i-vtec, today my daughter was in the glove box and when she shut it she forced it shut. Something has now jammed it closed, the side where the handle for opening it is is free slightly but the handle is open like its pulled towards you (if sitting in the passenger seat) How can i free the glove box door or removed the glove box

sounds like the rods are disconnected the clips hold the rods in place the latching mechanism holds the handle in place as well did you replace the speakers or did a shop? if a shop did then they caused this if you did then you may have caused this either way untill you reattach the rods none of it will work. you will have to manually open the door at the latch from inside teh door behind the panel.

what you have to do is make sure door lock is in unlocked position put a flash light inside the door to see you need to get a screwdriver into the release spring area try to pry up on the hook area that flips over the piece thats mounted to the door jam it should release sounds like you need to spray wd or blaster in the lock assembly return spring not kicking back

bet the belt is twisted pull back the rubber door seal and remove the top buckle should be possible to remove the trim pull the belt all the way out and untwist go for it

there is a pin in the door handle might have broke off there are two 10 mm nuts that will release the handle but you have to take the door panels off and remove it any local junk yard should have it or can order it for you

You should have some little plugs in the plastic edge on the bottom that can be popped off, that will expose screws, there is maybe one screw behind the door handle, and maybe a couple in the door pull. Then once it is unscrewed, pop off the plastic retainers that hold it the rest of the panel and up it goes, past the lock button and off, except that it is still connected by wires, you should be able to see what's going on behind the handle without taking the wires loose, just lean it up against the door or the car. There is also a plastic wind barrier stuck on there with the stickiest stuff you ever saw, take off your watch. Hope this helps.
