No Codes.. all checked out fine.. Battery is fine and Alternator is fine. Checked all Fuses and replaced the ones that control those areas. Not sure whats going on.. :(

  • Jamie Jackson May 15, 2009

No problem.. any advise is appreciated.. Our friend who works on the FBI cars and Trucks used his scanner and its said about 20 different LOW VOLTAGE errors or codes, But my husband didnt write any down.

  • Jamie Jackson May 15, 2009

Oh also.. since Ive purchased the truck I always have to take it back to the dealership to "reset" the Change Engine Oil light.. and the past few months the Seat Belt and Airbag light will come off and on. And the On-Star does the same on and off thing...

  • Jamie Jackson May 15, 2009

Thanks Ray.. My husband is going to replace the Control Module this evening.. but the friend took his scanner back to work so he wont be able to scan it again.. I guess we may be taking it to the dealership on Monday.. Man I hate to spend that kind of Money!

  • Jamie Jackson May 17, 2009

How would I go about replacing that? Do I need to get it from the dealer? How much are we talking? Can my husband replace it?

    Thanks :)

  • Jamie Jackson May 17, 2009

Also.. my husband just told me that the scanners would not "connect" to the computer.. does that help solve anything?

  • Jamie Jackson May 17, 2009

yes the one they used was $5000.. we are gonna take it to the dealer on monday, maybe their scanner can connect... Thanks for all your help..

  • Jamie Jackson May 18, 2009

took to the dealership this am for the diagnotics. They already called and said the ignition switch is Bad and has to be replaced.. so they did that.. he isnt sure if that was the cause for all the other electrical issues yet but thinks that may have caused it. could that really have caused all the other issues?

  • Jamie Jackson May 18, 2009

Ignition fixed all problems except the Fan Blower! They are working on that now.. will that be expensive?

  • Jamie Jackson May 18, 2009

its still there... they had just replaced the ignition switch when we talked.. not sure if he had codes on the other stuff.. I called them so they were probably in the middle of that and just hadnt gotten more information yet.

  • Jamie Jackson May 18, 2009

Need a new blower motor and resister... $433 more..

  • Jamie Jackson May 18, 2009

really? a dealership ripping me off? that would never happen... jk.. ok ill call them.. thanks :)

are these easy items to replace, should I just have my husband do it? which is most likely to have gone out?

Youve been amazing by the way!

  • Jamie Jackson May 18, 2009

Really? How rude.. free advise and still dont have the courtesy to send a nice rating!!

My husband said he wouldnt know how to change it out.. so looks like we are stuck with the dealership price.

  • Jamie Jackson May 20, 2009

Well AC is running and all works.. BUT he said the SRI was out and it needed to be replaced soon... my Airbag and Seat Belt light are on now.. He said it would be $575 and I just dont have that right now.. What does the SRI do?? Would it hurt not to fix it right away?

Thanks again for all your help!!

  • Jamie Jackson May 28, 2009

I havent had time to mess with it.. Its running fine now so Ive just swallowed the expense. Its still not bad for it being a 5yr old truck with 98K miles on it.. So well just see how it goes. THanks for checking in on me.

Have the car scanned for trouble codes and get back to me with the codes. most major parts stores will do this for little or no charge, get back to me with the codes

make sure that whoever scans the car is not using a cheap scanner as this will not show other fault codes, only engine codes. you need someone with the ability to scan the entire car,not just the engine codes, there are also body and abs codes

  • Ray Keckeisen May 15, 2009

sorry if it sounds like i'm not trying to help been up the last 72 hours, and now i'm getting tired.please forgive me

  • Ray Keckeisen May 15, 2009

i'm sorry i need the codes to properly help you otherwise it's like guessing and my motto is test don't guess, get back to me with the codes and i'll try to help Thanks Ray

  • Ray Keckeisen May 15, 2009

this sounds like the problems are in the body ecm

  • Ray Keckeisen May 15, 2009

please rate my fix as i strive to be the best,if you need more help just get back to me, try to stay away from the dealer

  • Ray Keckeisen May 17, 2009

before you replace the body ecm, EXPENSIVE get the codes,it may not be the ecm itself,it could be one of the sensors, these cars are notorious for body problems. get the codes and get back to me i hate seeing people getting ripped off, that's why i do this for no charge

  • Ray Keckeisen May 17, 2009

find someone with a proffesional scanner capable of communicating with your vechicle, some examples are Tech 2,Modis,OTC Gensys 3.0. Ihope this helps but these tools are very expensive more than 3,000 dollars each, just to give you an idea.

  • Ray Keckeisen May 18, 2009

very possible, get back to me when you get the car back

  • Ray Keckeisen May 18, 2009

they should have scanned the car for body codes, a problem in this area should have shown up,otherwise they DID NOT FIX THE CAR, take it back!!!!!!

  • Ray Keckeisen May 18, 2009

one or the other not both get a second opinion, sounds like a rip off

  • Ray Keckeisen May 21, 2009

SIR stands for supplemental inflation restraint, meaning the air bags. i'll get back to you tomorrow and tell you what to do.

  • Ray Keckeisen May 21, 2009

call the dealer and GM tell them that you want a factory service representative to come and look at your truck, a bad ignition switch did not cause all these problems, also tell the dealer you want all the old parts back,it's your right to have these parts.get back to me if you need more help Ray

  • Ray Keckeisen May 28, 2009

was wondering how you made out with dealer and service rep Thanks Ray

03 GMC EnvoyXL CBM-how much and how do to replace it.

You really need to have it scaned by someone with propre equiptment. If it is a body module it will be around $500 for the part. Then it will have to be programed at a dealer. Really before you spend that much get it checked by a shop that knows computer systems. Good Luck
