Bad latch, bad wiring, sometimes it is the BCM. Latches are the most common to die.

How to fix 2001 toyota sienna rear door not opening

The inner hatch latch mechanism is seized. You need to pull the door panel with it closed. It will be tight but it will come off without cracking. Spray lube around inside of latch. Get a long screw driver and pry the link from the key. The latch won't release until the key link goes to the unlock position. It will be seized. It is easy to figure which way to move it if you have someone insert the key into the closed hatch and try to move it.

Toyota Sienna 2000 Mini-van. The driver's side power window.

I have the same problem with my 2000 Sienna.Probably window motor will need replacement. Frustrating. Turns out I have a lot of the same wear and tear issues with my Sienna as others. Automatic door sticks open or continually pops open, snapped rear hatch, tire pressure sensor always on. C'mon Toyota, I hope your newer models are more robust. FYI we take VERY good care of our van.

Where is the sienna 2006 spare tire?

If it's all wheel drive, there is no spare unless the add-on has been installed. You would find it inside the rear hatch in that case and you would'nt be asking. If it's front wheel drive, it will be under the passenger side floor, adjacent to the sliding door.

May need to replace the cable, however in the mean time spray some wd40 on it and you can manually push the latch back with a screwdriver

I cannot get the rear/side window latch to close. any suggestions

Sienna is like Previa... If the rubber seal around the Rt or Left read window is hardened, closing it will feel like this and 'may' break.
Use ArmorAll and hit it a couple 3-4x to soften the rubber seal all the way around (both sides too, front and back) and make the seals supple and pliable again. Should close OK now ;-)

The rear hatch will power open but not power close,. Usually you can pull the door down about a foot and it will catch and close, but it wont catch and will not close with the remote or interior button.

Here is what I have had success doing. Open the rear door, put a little grease on shock's inner rod, close the rear door to lubricate the shock internally. It may require a little more lubrication if it does not work the first time.

Running light on my 2004 toyota sienna

You have to take off the back hatch pull down strap. It is held in place with a large screw likely concealed under a decorative cap. Then the whole rear cover on the inside of the hatch can be removed. I have a PDF on this somewhere I could dig up. Contact me if you want it emailed to you. As they say a picture is worth a thousand words and there is drawings in the PDF.
