There are two metal terminals inside which actuate the window mech, now what happens is because the terminals constantly spark (ever so slightly) everytime you hit the switch it blackens the terminals and as the driverside is most used its always the first to go, a good way to test this is to wiggle the switch when pressing down on it and this should help make a connection, to fix permanently, ever so gently take out the power window switch and disassemble it there will be two lugs that come off the window switch you are wishing to fix, they are in the center of the switch at the pivot point, they are the only things that hold the switch top on, be carefull not to break thoes lugs or the housing they are in and gently pry the switch out, be carefull as there are 2-4 small springs and two brass terminals that you cannot loose or your screwed, clean the two long brass terminals with a fine sand paper and clean out all greassy stuff they put in there, now a very light amount of vasalene only on the parts that appear to need lube (springs etc) and put the switch back to gether VOILA should work like new. hope this has helped. matt

Why I got no power window

one window? or all? if one window it maybe locked on driverside there sometimes are lock buttons which the driver can control to allow to open or lock closed or in position if all? I suggest looking at your fuse box and look for one that says windows/ if after pulling and wire inside burnt in half replace with same type of fuse. If none of these and just one window ? you may have a burnt out motor for that window which of course would need to be replaced

Power windows not working

check for blown fuses?you've most likely done that. open hood and look on the driverside fenderwell for a black main fuse and relay center or box, open the box and look under the lid for locations of relays and fuseslocation the fuse for electric widow and as you look at the fuse, you will see a horseshoe type metal ring inside the plastic 'window' if it's broken(the hORSESHOE} the fuse is bad and needs a new one.there is also a fuse panel located on the driverside of dash, open the door and you should see a removeable plastic cover on the drivers door at dash panel just to the left where the door closes. remove that cover to expose the fuse panel to inspect for blown fuses. thank you for choosing fixya.com

Sometimes electric windows work and sometimes they dont

Depending on how good you are with repairing cars there is a solution that could possibly work you have to remove the switch case with the switches by placing a thin screwdriver in front of the case and pushing the spring loaded clip back at the same time lifting the case slightly upwards once removed remove the connectors by pressing the release clip in the centre of the connector now get hold of some contact cleaner and try to spray underneath the switch you press, cleaning the connection inside switch normally solves the problem.
