Car dies while driving

No warning the car is driving great and it just dies, sometimes you can restart it immediately and other times you have to wait for about 10 mins or more before it will start....the engine light is on....we went and had AutoZone put the tester on it to see why the light was on, they called it cylinder #2 mis-fire and oxygenizer (sensor) needs to be replace.....will this fix the problem...

You need to replace the control module in the distributor. It shorts out when it gets hot, thus losing spark, then cools, and the spark returns (to the plugs).

My car is sputtering and dying. If I try to restart it, it will immediately go into sputtering/dying mode. If I wait a while an hour or so it will start up and drive fine.

When was the last time that the carburetor was stripped and cleaned? Also have you checked the fuel filter? Finally, the problem seems to come and go as the engine is run (and it gets hot) check that the fuel line and any electrical cables are well away from the hot engine as far as is possible.

Car dies without warning

The symptoms you describe are similar to what I experienced on a 1994 Fiat 900cc. Sometimes it would just die and immediately restart, just to die again. Other times it would surge, almost like a misfire. There were no dashboard lights or error codes.

I disconnected the electrical wire on the MAF (Mass Airflow Sensor) and the car ran pretty ok... so I then replaced the MAF.

Try cleaning your mass airflow sensor to see if that makes any difference. You'll probably find a video on Youtube.

Just turns off on it's own, Wait 60 sec. restart press pedel it dies.

This engine is electronically controlled so the first thing that must be done here is to have the systems control computer tested for fault codes and then do the proper diagnostics based on those codes.

My 1999 Pontiac Montana starts fine, and then sometimes dies

The starting /keep running issue is probably a slow IAC (idle air control)Next time turn the key on,wait 3 or 4 seconds then start,if it keeps running after that wait time everytime,it most likely is the IAC,,,,,,no big deal.

Intermittent shut down of Jaguar XJR while running

The fault is intermittent - strikes without warning - and I guess if there are no error codes - so the fault is beyond the reach of the computer sensors - change your high tension coil.

Car dies

I had this God awful problem on another car (94' Olds Cutlass) and it turned out to be a short (no contact) on a wire feeding the computer. Ask a mechanic to check all appropriate wires from the battery to the ignition looking for wear and conductivity.
