This sounds like a warn ignition lock. The tumblers probably are warn down and have too much slop so the unit is jamming. Try wiggling the key around as you turn. Good luck.

This usually happens if your steering wheel is in the rightmost or the leftmost position. Try wiggling the steering wheel when pulling out the key.

I have a 2005 suzuki ferenza and wont come out of park and cant get key to go to lock position so cant get key out but i can if i unhook the battery?

This happened to me numerous times... there is a little spot by the shifter - it says "shift lock" something like that.... Push a key or something that fits in that hole and it will release. I had to drive around with a mini screwdriver forever and "unlock" that each time and one day it just stopped locking. The key also gets stuck and wont turn when the steering wheel is in the wrong position... (??) turn it back and forth as much as you can - that sometimes releases it as well.

My ignition switch wont turn got a new 1 cant get the old 1 off what can i do

Hello woodsvincent...The GM ignition switches are designed to be removed with the key in the on position. The lock tumblers in the old switch are likely stuck and/or worn, and if your key itself is worn that makes it worse. Disconnect the negative battery cable, and try another key thats in better shape if possible. Spray a little lubricant in the switch, wiggle and work the key and see if you can get it to turn to the on position...if you can, leave it there!! The switch can be replaced if you can't get it to turn, but it's a lot more labor intensive.
Let me know how it goes...and i will further advise.
Good luck and i hope this helps...

Turn the steering wheel and the key at the same time.
Turn the wheel HARD, whilst turning the key to the "on" position.
